I think it's been hard at this level to establish a regular front two because of the quality and set up of opponents. You're not going to have the same joy fielding the same players against different teams from one week to another. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Also you say lone striker chris wood is top scorer and leeds have played him up top on his own most of the season.
Ahh yes Fitz, George Waring had the potential if we can call it that, and it wasnt used or exploited properly was it by the slug Johnson. I seem to remember thinking hed done the same regarding Milan Lalkovic as well!!
Hated the guy. He caused me so many arguments, but he's so fecking sticky I can see me being upset next week at Bristol. Hopefully Blackburn will beat them on Monday and they'll be nervous when we go there. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Yes well done to Blackburn for really mixing it up today and making Notts Florist look over their arrogant shoulders as well lol. Id like to see Blackburn stay up and send Bristol down for obvious reasons, and Id genuinely like to see Burton stay up as well as they were written off much like ourselves before a ball was even kicked in anger.
Yeah you really have to respect Burton. As far as I know they don't have any real money men propping them up, so all considered, they are a proper success story. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Who was that striker at Burton who we were being linked with, and could he be an option if they do go down. I think it was Lucas Akins or something like that.
Now you're comparing a player from a team in the play offs against one that's been stuck at the bottom of the league. Who gets the most chances in a game? Wow, it gets better, this is turning out like the we get bigger crowds than Huddersfield. Give it a rest mate.
Wood has scored 25 from been a lone striker though. So we should have paid 1 million for bogle that what your saying? Give it a rest glad your not running the club 1 goal in open play from 15 games speaks for itself we shall leave it there.... si thi
Payne for me is the best striker to partner Tom Bradshaw, it pains me to see Bradshaw having balls lumped up to him against 6 foot 4 defenders. Bradshaw is a great header of the ball but you can't do anything against defenders like Wigan had the other night. If we had a target man partnering Bradshaw up top then I really do believe he would be in double figures this season, he just hasn't had the right service.
Why are you so defensive about Omar Bogle? Hes not even played a season of league football you know nothing about him yet wanted the club to spend £1 million on nothing more than your own hunch he would be good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes Darf, I think many of us have suggested that Bradshaw with his pace could work neatly with an opposite sort of 'target man' strike partner. No of course this doesnt mean get a big man in and just keep knocking in long balls to them both. But it does mean both could work well alongside and off each other, and give the defenders & keeper something to worry about which we're not doing enough of.
Put Bogle in that Leeds side how many would he have had? Basic football knowledge that mate, comparing a lone striker in a play off side to one stuck in a side at the bottom of the league. It's 3 in 11 starts and 1 sub appearance.
I'm giving it time mate, I've bookmarked all these Payne/Bogle threads, I'll bounce them up in the future.
He wouldn't have as many as wood. I don't know about you but I'm glad we didn't pay 1million for bogle and give him 10k a week like wigan have all opinions like but not for me and the wigan fans who watch him week in week out aren't too impressed either just you.
