"Mark Robins will be as unpopular appointment as Davey" !!!!

That I dont think is true at all

Davey was appointed on the back of a not great run as caretaker manager with no managerial experience at all he wasnt a popular appointment with most fans

There are quite a large number of fans who would welcome Robins - he came top of a BBS manager poll recently.

He would be nothing like as unpopular an appointment.

The only unanimously popular appointment I can think of would be Curbishley or possibly Coppell - Neither of who we have any evidence that they are remotely interested.

    A BBS poll???

    the barometer of opinion. ffs.

Ive had text messags from real people that cannot believe we're even contemplating Robins, the not one of the people I've spoken to have said Robins would be first choice. The best case is "he might do alright".

Find that thread just after Davey got a contract extension where 80% were giving it well done Patrick.

    It's no joke that man!

Whenever my phone beeps, I spring over to it to see which of my many friends it is and what they want (those crazy devils) only to find it's a sim update from Orange. All the time. Maybe my good chums have written down the wrong number. What are they like. Honestly.

RE: Greatestest ever best post of all time

it was intended, albeit without apostrophys, to point out that your average BBS poll includes votes from Windys mate Mark and the fact that if you take for gospel every word written on here behind the safety of anonymity, you must be bonkers. I heard the whoosh as it whizzed over your head.

"Go and get Ronnie Moore from Rotherham, I mean Mark Robins." Where you trying to be funny cos that didnt make me laugh.

BBS polls or texts from real people are about as much use at deciding whether a manager will be any good as tea leaves or messages from the departed.

Only time will tell, give the bloke a chance like you (and I) gave Davey a chance.

Differing opinions alround I see... IMO Robins would be good appointment

IMO first choice would be Steve Coppell. Experienced and sucessful manager at this level, but I question whether he would fancy a move north to a lower end championship side so late in his career. Same could be said for Alan Curbishley. I also feel that some fans expect instant success and guarenteed survival from this type of appointment.

If its old school or Sgt. Major type managers we want we could look at Joe Royal (not yet been mentioned), Stan Ternant, Peter Jackon, George Graham (no thank you) but I do no think they are the answer either...... most have been sucessful in the lower leagues or have been out of work for some time.

Experienced coaches making the step up to management is always a tough one, some make it and some fall flat on their faces. In the past we have given opportunities to Paul Hart, Nigel Spackman, Glyn Hodges, Simon Davey and Andy Ritchie. This is not a road I think we should go down.

We could look at young managers e.g. Ince/Robins/Tisdale/Scott. All needing to start somewhere (unlikley to be with premiership club) and so have gained experience in the lower leagues. To progress they need an opportunity. If they have right credentials, I feel that this could be perhaps our best option.

Foreign manager could be another option, Lazlo at Hearts could fall into that category. He have proven track record, is full of passion and I feel could become a cult hero here but we would have to pay hefty compensation and I fail to see how we would attract him to join us from a prospering SPL side.

Others to mention are as follows:
Paul Jewel - did well at Bradford and Wigan, didn't last long at swillsbrough and failed to impress at Derby after wasting vast amounts of money.
Aidy Bootroyd - IMO is a one season wonder, has failed to impress since Watford promotion season.

I have to agree. I've been watching John Wayne walk about on the 'other side' on my magic box dressed as a cowboy for the last hour and he's said **** all of any relevance. I think his hip is playing up, he walks a bit like Nardiello ran.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

Nardiello's a right player. 20 goals a season man. Going places, mark my words.

Yes it's getting a bit tedious now

How anyone can get this upset about someone who might be alright is beyond me. Noone knows how it will work out so it's not worth the energy.

Some folks on here need to get a grip on what's important in life - maybe reading Arks post from earlier might bang a few heads together.

40 goals between him and odejayi, unbelievable that we've held them back from realising that potential. We should hang our heads.

John Wayne hasn't mentioned Paul Ince yet. I think it's a sign.
