He wasn't going away from goal. He was running in the box with a fairly easy side foot into an empty net. Its practically impossible to take the ball round the keeper without at some point turning away from heading straight at the centre of the net otherwise you'd go straight into the keeper. To go round somebody you have to change direction that's a simple fact isn't it?
Tbf if it was a foul it was a sending off. The reason he was going away from goal was to round him to get a shot on target therefore a goal scoring OPPERTUNITY was denied by the challenge.
In my opinion it wasn't a red - angle of the run was away from goal and had a bit to do with defenders getting to the line - still had plenty to do in my opinion - near to the goal or not! Would have been annoyed if it happened to Ross and he'd been sent off for it
