    Name one then.

Have a look at the London Gangs website where they're all listed, you won't find one.

Firstly I think the distinction of Afro-caribbean community is wrong, as that relates purely to black people of Caribbean heritage. There are issues, particularly in SOME elements of Somali communities (huge numbers have formed hugely succesful lives here) who are a people who have escaped horendous brutality in their own country. Added to which they are likely to suffer from racism and islamaphobia and consequently some seek the safety in numbers protection that is offered by a gang.

But much of the knife culture is an inner-city rather than racial problem, prevalent in the poorest areas for a whole range of reasons relating to the soio-economic problems that come from living in cycles of poverty. The violence isn't (in most cases) racial, often just against other schools etc. It just so happens that these poorest areas in inner-cities are far more likely to be home to ethnic minorities as they are far more likely to be trapped in poverty. It is an esculating problem in our cities, in most cases born out of fear and people carrying a knife because they're scared. Unfortunately it is going to get a whole lot worse because the government are slashing the funding to these areas excacebating the socio-economic problems and disparity which are at the root of the problem.

What a load of rubbish, these gang youths are no poorer than anyone else, in fact most of them will have more money than the average teenager because of money they make from drug dealing and mugging, you can guarantee they'll all be wearing £100 trainers.

Relative poverty has nothing to do with it, it's a cultural problem and the same problem that exists in the US, South Africa, France, Canada, and Brazil, and exactly the same people are involved.

There are millions of people far poorer in places like India who don't behave like this, indeed or own grandparents were poorer and didn't behave like this either.

You could have made a case for lack of male role models being the reason, because very few of these youths have father's around but I don't think that's the reason either.

To be honest if I met you in real life I wouldn't waste my breath and would go and talk to someone else so I'm not going to bother on here
