Never done it myself and the only time I could imagine myself doing it would be for a Barnsley penalty. Even then I don't think it would cross my mind, being such a rare event, I'd be far too busy checking that I wasn't dreaming or having a stroke or something. ;)

You sure it wasn't the real thing?

We have basically evolved into soulless zombies, where life has become a series of filtered experiences.. It’s handy to tape a moment to re-live, but whale watching through an iPhone? (as I saw someone do on tv..) It really is the beginning of the end..

Went to see the Christmas Lights at Kew Gardens. The finale was absolutely spectacular - lights, lasers beams and projections sweeping over the palm house and across the water all set to music. Sort of thing that you got totally immersed in - well I did. Everyone else was filming it on their phones. Utterly and completely defeating the point of being there.

Screens & lenses are also invasive to people who prefer to experience such an event naturally. Bob Dylan has banned them from his shows for these very reasons.

We have our own fans who do it. It's not just the big clubs. Don't see the point.

Like when you try to film firework displays. I tried it once and video was rubbish. Better just to watch the sky
