    He started 44 first team games for us, scored 7 goals, made another 25 sub appearances. All in the second tier. Played alongside Hignett, Ward, Barnard etc. Not saying he was great or owt, he went on to play for Rochdale, Port Vale and Scarborough. But he's done a helluva lot more than young Digby has so far. You can't deny that.

    Being honest, James Bree is ahead of Digby already.

    Paul has made four league starts, and had 9 appearances off the bench. I'm struggling to understand what it is you're judging him on when you say he's the best player we've produced in 40 years.

    Best young player I've seen at Oakwell in the past 40 years would have to be David Speedie. While I understand Clarke's motives for letting him go (they'd had a big bust up) we let an exceptional talent go and Darlington got the benefit of the big money transfer when he left them to join Chelsea.
