"Only criticism was that in the second half he had a tendency to drift sideways rather than playing the ball forwards."

    Sounds more like it.

To be fair, they're not saying owt we didn't know. Thing is, we've seen him 100 times. Once they see him regularly, and realise he offers little but energy, they'll know where we're coming from.

Once again though, I wish him well as he always gave his all and was key in my opinion for the first year or so. But his time here was ended at the right time. I like Blackpool, so hope he does well for em.

Blackpool must have had a vacancy for a midfielder who can't tackle, can't beat man, has no pace, doesn't create anything and never scores. Maybe they want him for his pointing skills.

A change was needed for us and Perkins he's been a passenger all season for us. It's possible that a move will revitalise him as he is one of the few Hillcroft signings who at his best is championship player, albeit bottom 6. I have only positive words to say about him at the same time I'm positive I'm happy that he's gone.

Always thought Perkins was a good player, a small cog in the machine but if played with the right players a valuable one.

A few quotes from Will Watt (Blackpool Gazette):

    "man of the match performance"

    "all action display"

    "playmaker"

He did look good playing alongside 2 'physical' midfielders in Osbourne and Basham. I saw him play down at Ipswich (I believe he asked to speak to them and another Championship club after receiving an offer from Blackpool) and seen a few videos of him this season and was impressed.

Its a good move for everyone really. Perkins almost guaranteed to play Championship football next season, Blackpool get a player who fits perfectly into their 3 man midfield for £0, and Barnsley can bring in the likes of Liam Lawrence/ give Digby more game time.
