Careful with that - the housebuilder will sometimes sell on the freehold to a third party, which can be problematic. See here: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2016/oct/29/new-builds-house-buyers-leasehold-property-trap
Interesting read is that, all the signs are pointing towards looking for something else. Just too many negatives to date and possible unknowns moving forward.
Simon.whalley@persimmonhomes.com If i remember correctly Head of sales. Entitle your email formal complaint Then tell him the issues. 1. There is a door required between the kitchen and utility room. Although the gesture of a tap and a cupboard for the boiler is appricated the lack of door contravenes building regulations. This needs to be rectified and confirmed in writing prior to any completion. 2. You do not like being lied to by the sales staff. Not only is it a lack of trust between Persimmon and yourselves it is putting your good name at risk by being complicite in the same. 3. Inability to get a straight answer from the sales team with upto 8 weeks to provide a vauge response. 4. The pressure from the Persimmon legal team to complete is uncalled for when so many questions remain unanswered. Setting a deadlines of Xxx is not acceptable given the outstanding issues. Please provide me with details of the releveant ombundsman for this dept so i can make a formal complaint to this party directly. 5. Can you confirm the reason for the overzealous nature of the legal team to exchange even when issues are still outstanding is due to Persimmons year end being 31/12. Add as you see fit. Simons pretty decent and good at what he does. You fire that off today and yol have an answer inside 24 hours. If email bounces ive.spelt it wrong amd ill.sort roght one when i get home

Sack them off if that's the attitude mate. Only going to get worse once they actually have your money by the sound of it.
