how can he show remorse for a crime he insists he didn't commit, how easy would it be to admit to it and then beg for a 2nd chance
Prisons are awash with sex offenders who don't think they've done anything wrong and perpetuate their abuse by not acknowledging it
I find it hard to believe that he's actually wanting to step out on to a football pitch again knowing the abuse he's going to get.
Taking a taxi .... done that Lying to a hotel receptionist.. done that Entered my mates room while he was at it.. done that leave a hotel by either a window or fire exit.. done that.. all things youg testosteroned filled young men do on a regular basis... just you tube sex in magaluf... IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.... let him without sin cast the first stone...
I am not commenting on his guilt or innocence, I'm just saying it would be all to easy to admit it and throw yourself onto peoples mercy, hes done/doing his time but still maintaining his innocence, if nothing you got to admire the guys principles
Do you believe he's innocent just because he says he is? Or do you have some more evidence that wasn't shown in court?
Only way he's going to earn decent money though, he doesn't have any other valuable skills & most work places wouldn't have him.
I kind of understand that he has the right to find employment but I'm just glad it's not at my club where my season ticket money & other money I spend at the club would contribute towards his wage
The best course of action is to probably pop down to your local constabulary and confess to being a filthy rapist then. It'd make the owners of this boards job a lot easier.
If, on the other hand, every man who had sex with a woman without having a reasonable belief that she was consenting was sent to prison (e.g. Ched Evans), then that would be great.
There's a difference between a right to employment and continuing a footballing career. If he was a teacher/policemen/social worker etc he wouldn't be allowed to go back into those fields of work.
Not one fact of the case (as presented in this thread) is disputed by Ched Evans, except that on entering the room either he or McDonald (neither can remember which (!)) asked if he could join in and she drunkenly mumbled 'yes'. That's it. Evans' doesn't think that what he did was rape, regardless of whether she said yes of not. She either didn't say yes and he just thinks he can do what he likes. Or he thinks she did say yes (but can't remember whether it was him who asked if he could join in) and that drunken yes from a girl he has never met in a dark room to which he has just illegally and duplicitously gained entrance means it isn't rape. Well it is, because of how he arrived in that room. If you are going to get yourself in that situation then you should be getting it written in blood that she wants you to join in because it is inescapable that you are taking advantage of her. Ched Evans could maintain that he believed she said yes but accept that what he did was wrong and that the role of consent in sex is far more important than he ever gave it credence. That consent is particularly important when alcohol is involved. And if you are going to do something as predatory as he did then it is absolutely essential. Furthermore he could make it unequivocally clear that the victim is the victim and has done nothing wrong and apologise to her for ruining her life. But he won't do any of that because he doesn't understand what rape is or think he has done anything wrong.
i can honestly say I have NEVER asked a girl if I can have sex with her... NEVER.. it was always just a progression of the situation i was in...
Exactly. How can it be claimed that the situation progressed. She'd gone home with his mate when someone she'd never met comes in to the room who then walks over and starts having sex with her.
Dont trust the police or the judicial system...seen far too many people wrongly convicted for things they didnt do..and I have never been a filthy rapist thank you..
