    Free pie and peas

    When I was a student in Newcastle (74/78) I lived in South Gosforth, 2 mins walk from the Working Men's Club, they had free Pie and Peas every monday night. The only down side was the beer - Federation Ales - yuck. Must have saved me a fortune in groceries.
