What about a babysitter?

"Come & sit on this baby".

(c) 1876 Piss Poor Joke Fayre

I'm fine.
How's things living with a mentalist pervert?

I can't help but laugh at the line at the bottom of your posts:
"Post a smile on a sick child's face with .... a post it note".
I just get a mental picture of me drawing a smile on a yellow post it note & slapping it on the face of some poor bin-lid.

Sorry.

Hartog and Ponty

In thinly veiled 'ooh look at me eating in posh overpriced restaurants' line.

Ar lass gets a trip to Beefeater on her birthday and she's happy.

Aye.
I won't eat common food with the sniveling oiks off this website.

It's all fois gras & champagne at Ponty Castle.

Or fish supper at Sandys.

Woodlands Hotel, Gelderd Rd, Guildersome

Cracking meal, not the cheapest, but they also do a cheaper option set menu five choices per course for about £14, but you must have your order in before seven pm. Its called the early bird.

I'd recommend Spice Quarter in Millennium Square...

It's an all-you-can-eat buffet type place, which serves Italian, Indian, Chinese, amongst other things. They cook freshly made pizzas and naan breads and chicken tikka, etc, infront of you as you order. Costs around £15 a head, including dessert. Been absolutely brilliant on the two occasions I've been.

Akbar's curry house near the train station on Greek Street is also very nice.

Along the same lines..

Sam Turner's farmers' supplies in Northallerton has a brilliant cafe. Only local produce is used and you get a great feed for about a fiver. Only open up until 5.00 but that shouldn't matter.

Sous Le Nez, particularly if you can get there before 7pm for the Early Bird fixed price menu.

Teppanyaki

Belgrave Road behind the St John's centre

Not cheap and if we're being honest not good value.

But it is a great night. The food is cooked on a hotplate at your table and the chefs put on a good show.

None of the menu makes much sense so I'd go with set meals and saké all round.

Agreed. Not cheap at all, but worth every penny just for the entertainment of watching the chef cook your meal right in front of you. Brilliant <333
