" may be wrong, but I think its John Stones that paying for the big squad..." You could well be right mate, it's a good point. We made quite a bit of money last year from selling Stones, and the cup run, so that is more than likely financing the bigger squad. That money won't last forever though, so unless we do trim the squad Mr Cryne may have to dip in to his own pocket next year.
I would spend some of the money buying Grove Street School. If this falls into the hands of new house builders, future developments would be stopped for ever. I am sure that this land would not cost a fortune.
1. Get a communications manager in that doesn't spell thing wrong on Twitter or post pictures of a car wash. 2. Improved community outreach programme - not an excuse to say that teachers won't accompany schools with free tickets, pay someone to host and entertain schools each week. Use astro-turf for tournament on a Saturday morning and keep kids around all day. 3. Signed Jacob Butterfield. 4. Get Bobby Hassell on the coaching/ambassador staff and bring in local 'legends' such as Eaden/Liddle etc that are coaches but kids can relate to. 5. Scoreboard. 6. Stop signing loan players.
I'd make lots of vague statements, say things were in motion, set up some focus groups, make a few high profile but inexpensive infrastructure changes and then pocket the cash, covering it up with dodgy accounting.
