I can remember 1 sloppy pass from Bobby, and another couple that were good balls but the receiving player was snoozing, and he wasn't f'ing about, it's called composure.

Agree. The role he plays covering the back four is a big strength away from home, but not so much at home, especially when Perkins and Dawson are in midfield.

Let's hope so. Only way of preventing him from starting on Sunday.

Even as an admitted Kennedy critic, I can't see what it was that he did yesterday to receive so many awful ratings on here.
He was near to his best for me. Which I still think isn't good enough, certainly going forward, but still. I think the marks of 3 and 4 are way unnecessary. But what do I know?

That would be about my scores with a 4 for Kennedy because on the day he was better than Wiseman and Perkins.

Sorry Jay but I've watched him play plenty - I don't think he's got any attributes. (Assuming you're referring to old TK..)

    * Heading - Jump in the mere vicinity of his opponent when the ball is in the air with no intention of heading the ball. Couldn't look more spineless if he tried.
    * Passing - Punt it down the line. If O'Grady isn't there, just hope that he'll get there by the time the ball lands.
    * Tackling - Make one slide tackle every 90 minutes when it's particularly easy, just so that fans think you can tackle. The rest of the time, just pray that the opponent runs it out of play as he ties your feet in knots.
    * Corners - One decent corner in 150. By anyone's strike rate, that's pretty poor.
    * Alertness - Fall asleep at regular intervals during the match. Game after game, let your man drift in behind you from deep crosses. If we have a chance to break away by getting to the ball quickly, amble in its general direction, just keep it in play, and then punt it down the line. Also, play opposition strikers onside as much as possible by ambling out 5-10 yards behind the rest of the back four.

I don't think he's close to a Championship footballer, I'm not entirely sure he'd cut it in League One. I don't think its unfair to suggest that McCourt looks at him as the only man in space quite often and thinks "I'm definitely not giving it to that twonk." Maybe he looked decent to people yesterday just because he occasionally was in the full back position, unlike the bloke on the other side who must have gone for a pie in the second half. I think its absolutely no coincidence that we got a clean sheet in the game he was left out of, and I'm hoping and praying that the stories that he only got back in because Nyatanga was struggling following Saturday are true.

Pretty much what I think. He's not a brilliant player at this level, we all know that, but he had a decent game yesterday, gave as good as he could. We should be trying to sign a better left back, without a doubt, but I don't see the point of slagging off the one we've got. He doesn't select himself, the manager does that, and for me he tries when he plays. Definitely worth more than a 3 yesterday.

I haven't got a problem with any of our squad. I've not been too impressed with Ramage, but he was very good yesterday. I think we've got an honest group of players. I'd prefer better players, but the ones we've got try their best. I've seen a squad of players who don't give a **** (the team that went down under Parkin). It was a hell of a lot more depressing than watching our present lot.

That's the bit that I'm not sure I buy with our full backs. Trying your best doesn't involve jogging slowly back while the team get repeatedly ripped to shreds in your area of the pitch.

Some players are naturally fitter than others and can bomb up and down the line all day. I don't think Kennedy is one of those players and as such asking him to be our attacking outlet on the left is always going to cause us trouble at the back. However, I don't think we got ripped to shreds down our left yesterday. Hardly anything came in from Kennedy's side. Wiseman neglected his defensive duties yesterday and didn't have a good game, but for me that was an exception rather than the norm this season. Well, not just this season, since Flicker took over last season.

I get Kennedy's limitations, I do think we need more quality in that position, but I don't believe he goes out there and gives anything but his best. He's had some poor games this season, but I think he's had a few where he's played OK, yesterday being one of them, yet he still gets slagged off. I don't think he deserves it.

I'd like to think you'd have seen me enough on these forums in the past...however many years, I'm really not the type that turns on our players. I've had very few players that I've openly criticised, but I just can't stomach watching him play. I don't like the way he bottles aerial challenges with opposition players even though they're often wingers of similar stature, I don't like his remarkable ability to point out that he's got 2 players to mark while marking neither of them, and don't like what I view to be some spineless and often careless defending.

I'm not openly critical of him at games and wouldn't be - I am as encouraging as a quiet East Stand Upper fan can be, but he's just a player that gets my goat. Maybe I am a little unfair in some of my judgement of him and maybe it would be better aimed at the managers that have left our full back position in such a state, and I don't think we are currently playing a system that gives much help to our full backs. I'd take all of those points on board. But I'll be seriously disappointed if Nyatanga isn't playing there on Sunday - and considering he's a centre back, that says a lot about how poor I think Kennedy is.

I may have let his pathetic defending against Yeovil cloud my judgement slightly on the 3 - its been giving me nightmares.

That's exactly why I'm taking the time to discuss it with you. It's out of character. Well, not out of character, but you don't normally do it. Some people will slag off anyone and everyone at the drop of a hat, so it's not worth the bother. You don't, so it is.

I get why you don't like him, but I do think the fact that you don't like him has clouded your judgement and when he does play OK you don't see it.

I'm as guilty of that sort of thing as anyone. In Hendrie's season in charge we were playing Port Vale at home. Van Der Laan was going through the motions as he had in every game up until that point as far as I was concerned. We were 2-0 down and Vat Of Lard fluffed an easy chance in front of the Port Vale supporters. They started singing his name and he smiled broadly and gave them a wave. DURING THE ******* MATCH. That was it as far as I was concerned. He never did a single good thing a Barnsley shirt. If he did, I couldn't see it. He remains, in my opinion, the biggest waste of space to ever play for us. Both in terms of uselessness and the size of his gut. I'm pretty sure that I was entirely unreasonable when assessing his performances though.

If Danny had any choice in the matter he wouldn't have played Kennedy yesterday. Nyatanga was knackered after the Leeds match. He had no other options.
