Roberts (2)
Played his part in two of the goals. After a promising start to his Barnsley career I honestly think we can find a better keeper in the summer.

Williams (2)
I actually thought he started the game quite well. Shocking defending for the pen and then was a liability from then on.

Mael (5)
Average performance. He carried the ball out well at times. Think he’ll look a lot better if we can get better defenders in the team around him.

Earl (5)
Still not the player we first saw after he signed but didn’t do a great deal wrong today.

Cadden (3)
Poor player having a poor season. Let him go end of the season. Shocking the board allowed him to be our only choice at LWB after Dodgeson was recalled.

O Keefe (5)
I actually thought he had one of his better game today. He offered something going forwards that said he’s still a poor player and a defensive liability.

Connell (6)
Still not at his best but certainly one of the better players on the pitch.

Kane (1)
Clearly doesn’t want to be here. Was soft, slow, disinterested and gave the ball away too much. Wouldn’t even have him in the squad Tuesday.

Phillips 6
had one of our two shots on target and were it not for a good save it would have been a great equaliser. I would also liked to have seen where his thunderous blocked shot might have gone.

Cole (0)
Easy to give him a 0 because he did nothing. No press, no closing down. No runs, no effort, no strength. Genuine waste of a shirt. Again I wouldn’t have him in the squad Tuesday the sooner he’s released the better.

McAtee (3)
He gives a few good interviews and runs about. But he’s the definition of a headless chicken. He’s likeable and tries but lacks any ability or quality.

Cosgrove (7)
I actually thought he played really well from the moment he came on. Knock Santos about quite a-bit and made some good runs. Nice first time finish for the goal. Has to start Tuesday. Surprisingly underrated player IMO.

Grant (7)
His best performance for us and looked good when he came on. Made himself available. Offered good movement and picked out Cosgrove well for the goal. Also deserves a start on Tuesday and maybe a permanent deal.

Overall there were some good spells tonight unfortunately overshadowed by horrific defending. I actually enjoyed the game. Atmosphere was good in parts. Highlighted what a build overhaul we need in the summer though.

He was decent early on driving us forward but faded, you get a different perspective watching on TV

Am I the only one who didn’t think we were that bad barring the two cheap goals we gave away.

I thought Kane had his worst game in a while & Roberts & Williams obviously messed up but I thought & expected us to be outplayed throughout & I didn’t really think that was the case.

Others have praised O’Keeffe at times & I’ve not really seen it but I actually thought he played well last night. He attacked & went past the Bolton full back a couple of times which was a lot better than usual.

We did play some decent stuff at times I agree. What’s the point though when you just know our soft underbelly at the back will gift two goals every game? Watched the second and third goals back and it’s joke defending even in a Sunday league game. The corner that goes straight in is just laughable.

Completely agree.

We got away with it against many of the weaker sides as we could out score them but you can’t expect to score 3 & 4 against sides like Bolton
