It would be nice if the board pushed the boat to sign a few players and ush on our challenge, from what i have seen of hayter he looks a good player and scored a fair few last year
Skysports.com used to have.. a roumers page that was colour co-ordinated, can't find it now, anyone else ever seen it?
RE: We can't afford Hayter...........but I know a man who can According to times rich list he's worth £58m. So 100k is 1/580th of his bank account which to a normal person is sweet f.a.
I seem to recall , in the summer Being told time and time again it was a done deal that Brian Howard would be signing for Bournemouth , as he comes from round that area and there was no chance of him moving north . Once he'd signed for us , Bournemouth admitted they couldn't compete with the "likes of Barnsley" when it came to salaries . Later on , Swansea City dropped out of the race to sign a certain Martin Devaney as his wage demands ( at that time ) would break their wage structure . Whether that's the case now is another matter . We may not be paying the salaries of a few years ago , but I doubt very much that many clubs in this division can match our rates of pay .
Bournemouth couldn't sign Howard at the time due to a court action they were fighting. They couldn't sign anyone in fact. That was the main obstacle in the way. As for Hayter, he's probably not too good for you, but he'll go to the highest bidder. I would expect that your little bid will start the ball rolling with the other clubs that are chasing him. If you bid the most, you'll get him but it might well be for more than £100k. Fairly simple really! Unless he decides to see his contract out, signs a new one, or choses one of the Championship sides.
RE: I seem to recall , in the summer True, whatever our debts may be, we get higher attendances than 80% of the division which means we will have a higher cash flow and will be able to pay that much for players if spread over a year or so.
Thanks for clearing that up mate , much appreciated . Is it true , then , that your club is still in the severe financial difficulties that allowed Burnley to sign a few of your players for well below their true market value ?
One thing I'd be pretty certain about is that we would expect all the money straight away. A pay by installment deal won't be acceptable to the board (probably). We lost the players to Burnley as they were out of contract, got a nice offer from our ex-centre forward (now Burnley's manager), wouldn't sign new deals and went on Bosmans. Nothing we could do about that one (although some on our message board seem to think we could have MADE them sign new deals ff )
RE: where will we get £100k from? Do you think Hayes could be on his way and this would create the cash? One deal dependent upon the other?
you are wildly off mate we are massively in debt!!!! why spend 100k? spending that on a player is massively irresponsible
RE: Have your financial problems nope still in massive debt we just sold are stadium...it makes me laugh look where burnley are and there midfield is ours last season..we should of done so much better
