Beavon was with Didcot Town for a couple of seasons and helped them win the FA Vase a few years back. He is a bit of a legend in these parts and a good striker. Rumour has it that he turned down a contract with Oxford United because he would have been better off with his painting and decorating and playing part time. That was when Oxford were in the Conference. I am not sure that he is good enough for the championship though.
James Coppinger- Doncaster: Wasted back in league 1, crafty little b*stard who always causes us problems, would love to see him in a reds shirt. Still got 2 years on his contract though. Richard Keogh- Coventry: Permitting they go down, decent centre half, hardly missed a game for Coventry since signing. He's their captain though I think, and has another year on his contract so wouldn't be a freebie. Keith Treacy- Burnley: Out on loan to the wendies at the mo, they're not keen on him at Burnley, but was a good player for the Blunts and Preston in this division, another player well under contract though. Chris Taylor- Oldham: Refused to sign a new contract, so going on a free in the summer. Creative player, who can score goals. Greg Halford- Again, if Pompey go down, would like to see this lad come in. Yes another ex blunt, but very versatile, something KH likes. Only trouble is money, another player with 2 years left on his contract, and he cost Pompey £1,000,000 just 12 months ago. As for strikers, I can't really think of anyone at the minute who would suit us both financially and ability wise. Hope KH drops on a bargain again like he did with Vaz Te.
