Would it be constructive for likes of Mowatt, Pinillos and Woodrow to go to Stendel and raise concerns. They are players that know what it takes in the Championship. They surely know that you can't chase your tail for more than 25 mins at a time. Mowatt especially.
No one ever said they didnt want to play for us they just didnt want to extend, so we cashed in. We will do same with mowatt and mcgheehan if they don't extend next summer.
I'm not saying he would deliberately have played badly but if he'd already mentally left the club I think it would affect his performances particularly as the wins are harder to come by.
Sadly this is the truth, I can’t remember the last time a player genuinely wanted to stay here, we have made our bed now as this youth stepping stone project and we will never have a stable side good enough to compete
Aside from Hammill who was clearly gutted he was playing his last game for us and it ending in relegation, I can't think of anyone in a good long while. It's hardly surprising when we openly admit we're wanting to cash in on players to progress, so from the start, any player coming here is factoring in the stepping stone philosophy we've sold them and the fans. Its crap. I think I might actually be craving the days of Dawson Perkins and O'Brien!
