None, are we assuming in this thread that Hill makes every player a superstar?

Still find it unbelievable how one season he looked like one of the best midfielders in the division, the season after I would have done a better job

I thought Colace was excellent first spell, played that key role of setting the tempo and broke up play well. I appreciate he didn't go flying in for tackles but the best midfielders don't necessarily have to, positioning and reading of the game is more important. Hence player of the season. And that was in a team who didn't try and retain the ball.

hehehe, that's an interesting thought! actually if I ever see Paul Gibbs and his toothless face play football again it will be too soon. thinking about that disastrous era though, I am surprised that nobody has mentioned Chris Lumsdon - a player of genuine ability whose career clearly went off the rails without the correct guidance. I also think that considering his natural talent, Martin Bullock should have been pushing for an England place, but was clearly happy treading water (I have this from a very reliable source). whether Keith could have pushed him to the next level is another matter. I suspect Gibbs and another genius from that excruiciating season Kevin Donovon would both have been lost causes no matter who they played under.
