    You missed my point.

Look around the world. Countless statues and memorials.

I doubt many sat around asking for one to be built.

Cryne didn't ask for a flag. But we did one. Is he offended I don't know.

What happens is people want to recognise someone so that in years to come kids grow up asking who they are. They are remembered. Not just forgotten.

I doubt bobby more asked to be built outside wembley for example. My kid asked who it was. If it weren't built it was a question never asked.

Things like this are never asked for unless you are someone like that ***** who runs north Korea.

It's a difference of opinion and many feel the need to recognise a bloke for what he has done for the club.

    It is.

If the club offered and family refused. Then that's it. End of conversation.

It's an emotional subject and everyone has an opinion. And it's not one everyone knows what's best.

Nothing wrong with floating ideas around but again no one on here should have the final say.

That's between the club and his family.

    No statue for Rimmo -

He's been an excellent and exemplary member of BFC for a long time.

However in its 130 year history there are others who have served the club and the supporters with as much loyalty and endeavour - these good folk do not have a stand named after them.

This is a public forum and we are talking about a man that was much loved by most supporters, who are saddened by his passing. Of course the club and family will decide the most appropriate means to remember Norman in the longer term. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with people stating an opinion, even if their idea of a memorial remains nothing more than that, an idea. In fact, it's a great way to garner the feelings of the supporters and I'm sure club and family will take this into consideration.
Personally, I'm not one for statues or the naming of stands, but if some people suggest these ideas, I respect the good will with which they are plainly intended. It's the sanctimony from some fellow supporters to others, which I find distasteful.
