Just listening to Flicker's interview on SSN. My worry is he's talking about 'if this is my last game....' With all that's happened, I have this horrible feeling that tomorrow's press conference is NOT to announce Flicker as the new manager. Can you imagine the reaction, if Don gave it someone else, after all this??? You couldn't make it up..
3 good performances 2 wins 2 clean sheets A motivated team A complete turnaround Also, this isn't Hillcroft... or Hillflicker as you call them, IT'S THE MIGHTY SIDEKICK! Appoint Flicker tomorrow!
that's my worry too . Now that would be the biggest **** up in recent times. After 50plus years of watching that would really affect my view of where we are going as a club.
Flicker has joined up with Melon that is what is different from 3 weeks ago plus 2 wins, your own wind up contradicts your self.
I agree with you Nudge. The board were wanting a change, Flitcroft is part of that same team so how is it a change? Having said that, I think now that they will give it to him, if only til the end of the season, and use the last 2 results as justification.
A guy wins two chuffing games and this message board goes bananas...............if he loses the next two games there will be a posse out looking to string him up from the West Stand Talk abart fickle fans !!! This attitude by most on here has put the directors in a very awkward position.........if they had wanted Flicker then surely they would have spoken to him in the last week or so, but according to Flicker they haven't said anything to him. And now we get a good result against Leeds - so most on here then decide that Flicker is Gods gift to football management
To be fair, there is a point in there somewhere. If Flicker doesn't get the gig tomorrow, there will be another crusade against Don Rowing. But chances are, most of those very same people will have been saying 'definitely not' to Flicker, only 24 hours ago. For the record, I think Flicker is the right man. But 24 hours ago I didn't. So I can't really attack the Club, if they decide against him based on recent fans opinion.
Nudge, that performance today was as different from what we were getting under Hill as it could possibly be. Flicker in.
"HillFlicker the best management duo in the history of BFC". Young Nudger, on several occasions. Not fickle at all.
You were at the meeting with the Don, You kow what he said about a dog with a bone. End of the day KH was manager and what he said the team did, no matter what flicker thought. Surprised me listening to flickers interviews recently....Doubt he will ever work with Kieth again. hes ready to be his own man now and he will make a damn good manager somewhere. Lets Hope its here
The clamour for flickers appointment is more to do with a refreshing change in tactics, passion, and performance, not just "a good result against Leeds". He'll not get the job anyway, it's higgbran.
The big difference for me, was the humility. Hill = chip on his shoulder, stupid analogies, refusal to accept change or challenge, general disrespect for fans Flitcroft = respect for the Club, humble but confident about his ability, made immediate changes to Hill's flawed methods I've seen enough to accept that Flicker is his own man, not a Hill clone. He's gained a massive chunk of respect from the fanbase and changed many opinions. Mine included IMO we'll be making a big mistake, letting this man leave the Club
who did we draw against? I thought we played 3 under Flicker - lost at Peterborough and wins against Burnley and Dirty Leeds Agree with everything else you wrote though
Says one of the most fickle on here! Not so long ago Hill and Flitcroft were the best management team we'd ever had according to you!
**** me. You haven't seen the last few games, but you want new management ideas. What, you mean like playing a new, more attacking formation and having two people stood on the touchline encouraging the team for 90 minutes? Like instilling the confidence that turns around players like Harewood and McNulty? Didn't a well known milkman on the previous board claim that it was better for him to comment on our performance because he wasn't biased by actually attending the game (I'm paraphrasing). I'm not paraphrasing here. "If Flicker couldn't get a winning team as part of Hillflicker then he isn't going to get a winning team just on his own". I'm now going to change it slightly. "If Wilson couldn't get a winning team as part of Anderwilson then he isn't going to get a winning team just on his own". Of course, I'm not saying Flitcroft is the new Danny Wilson, I'm just using the comparison to show that you're talking bolox. We won't know how good any new manager will be until we have seen the games, but I am certainly impressed with the way that the team are responding to Flitcroft, so if he is to be the boss I think he's had a good start. Whether he gets the manager's job or not, I'd like to see him stay at the club.
