Got a spare adult ticket for tomorrow if anyone wants it for nowt? Can send a screenshot of it to 1st who will definitely use it
We scored plenty of goals against the better sides towards the end of last season, 4 against Bolton, 4 against Reading and 3 against Orient. Going to go 2-2. They’ll try and play out which will give us chances but we’ll concede a couple of daft goals.
Can't see anything other than a home win at Home Park in this one. 2-0 or 3-1 would be my guess. A new formation to bed in, plus lack of a recognised right-back and being reliant on MDG there doesn't fill me with confidence. I think McGoldrick will prove to be a good signing for us, but we've done most of our business too late in pre-season to feel as if they're going to be matchday ready for us. Potentially we're getting one of the toughest away fixtures we'll have all season as the opener, and I think we'll prove to be rustier than they are. No-one would be happier than me if I'm eating my words at 5pm tomorrow though, so COYR.
First game is impossible to call. Finding myself pretty optimistic for the season, but those full backs do worry me for tomorrow. I do think we’ve got some good quality at L1 level - particularly now, before one or two leave on deadline day. If Hourihane can get them fit and working hard we’ve got a good chance. If Phillips, Russell and co are wanting a big move then a good start to the season is a good way to go about it! Do we think it’ll be McGoldrick up front with DKD in behind? Cooper MDG Roberts Shepherd Earl Connell Russell Vickers DKD Cleary McGoldrick Could try put Phillips or DKD playing wide, if we want to shoehorn in the best players. Interesting bench options in Kelly, Farrugia and Yoganathan too. I’ve made the mistake of getting excited - I’m sure I’ll come crashing down tomorrow!
The Plymouth fans aren't particularly confident for this one with 43.3% thinking we'll get something from the game. link
3-0 Reds , we’ve got a budgie on our shirt ,we’ve got a budgie on our shirt , we’ve got a budgie on our shirt .. budgie on our shirt YOU REDS
Whenever I think of Plymouth I never cease to think of the horrendous train journey home in 1980. No food. No water. No heating.... and being stationary just outside Birmingham for an eternity. Frank the Flag opted to leave the train and headed off across wasteland to the bright lights of the Bull Ring. Cracking 3-1 win, mind.
