Aye you're right we should always aim for a draw against a team who are pretty much relegation certainties.
Lots of teams would have thought that coming to oakwell over the last 8 or 9 years tbh .it doesn't work like that.
the negative side of me thought that blackpool might surprise us today, and im trying to look at it as surviving a real banana skin and getting a good away point. but i do agree with the comments that as we started well and dominated the first half, its more like 2 points thrown away than anything.
I bow down to your greater knowledge. The way to be successful is by not beating the ***** teams. Quick tell Alex ferguson that's where he went wrong all those years. Is it worthwhile to ever win or should it be avoided as much as possible
I don't recall us ever being adrift at the bottom of a division following a relegation with the fans and the chairman at war during that period. The only time we were in Blackpools position and escaped was under Flitcroft. So it's not really a valid comparison. The results of Grimsby or Transfered might be a better comparison.
You have lost me now you described blackpool as relegation certainties. During our time in the championship we were classed as that for 7 years but survived so it doesn't always work like that.
Blackpool are in free fall both off the pitch and on. Any football fan in the UK would be able to tell you that. Let's not be daft we never were during those 7 years. They are a world away from us. . A similar team to Blackpool would be Grimsby or Halifax or Scarborough where off the field pressures mingled with on the field crapness. Whatever your viewsyou need to appreciate the trench that Blackpool are in.
So they obviously.got there first point today and are guaranteed to be relegated and lose every game for the rest of the season.
Over the last 50 odd games you have a 75% chance of beating Blackpool. I'd suggest better teams will do that. Average teams will probably draw.
