A £10m back three will have helped with that last season.

Is it mentality, or individual mistakes / poor defending?

Unacceptable? The table shows us 4th best in the division in terms of least points given away from leading positions. How is that in any way unacceptable?

That's really costing Blackpool. If they were ever so slightly better at coming from behind, they would be more in the promotion mix than they already are (admittedly as outsiders).

It doesn't mate, the table is in order of total points, it's just the League 1 table. It then displays how many games each team has taken the lead and the results from those games. We've taken the lead 23 times, won 16 of those, drawn 6 and lost 1. In doing so we've 'dropped' 15 points when taking the lead. Is that unacceptable, of course not. But we have dropped more points than, for example, Shrewsbury, in 19th place who have only failed to win 3 games after taking the lead. Of course, they've only taken the lead 10 times.

So it does. We could do with winning those then for 6 more points!

I think it’s mentality, which inevitably leads to the mistakes. We play some great attacking stuff at times, we should play to our strength and go for the throat. I will say we were unlucky at Bolton so perhaps we are improving in that regard. Time will tell.

I'm not sure that Cotter ducking under a cross, or the fact that our centre backs couldn't deal with crosses against Peterbrough, are about mentality though. Just poor defending, in the main by poor defenders.

Hoping beyond hope that a back three of Earl, MDG and Pines can work.

I agree that would definitely be my back 3, but mistakes are inevitable whoever is playing there if we invite pressure. It becomes a numbers game.

Hopefully we bag a couple early doors tomorrow either way!
