What about looking at it in a different way? Isgrove might go on to score two goals and get three assists for Pompey. But what if the player they were planning to sign would have got them four goals and five assists? What about any lapses in concentration that result in goals conceded that we'll never read about? It's all so hypothetical it isn't worth talking about. Most of us don't rate him. Stendel definitely doesn't rate him. Great to move him on and HOPEFULLY allow someone else to come in who Stendel actually wants in the squad. As I've said before, if we don't finish in the top two it won't be because of anything Moncur and Isgrove have done, it will be our own shortcomings.
I feel we are getting too caught up in other teams' squads and performances... we need to focus on our own results and everything else will fall into place if we get the points. If a player isn't doing it for us, let them go. If Moore or Pinnock were sold to Sunderland or Luton then of course that's different but we're moaning about bit-part players clogging up our wage bill.
Get rid, he's been picking up a wage here for far too long. Let Pompey pick up the tab for the next few years if they're daft enough to.
Moncur did score the winner for Luton, but he only played 10 minutes. I bet he doesn't start that many. Isgrove I wish luck. He's never going to get back in our first team by the looks.
Tweet pretty much confirming it from Adam Oxley. Transfer should be completed later today. Don't know what to make of it, yes we need to get Isgrove out of the club but I'd have said sell to anyone but a promotion rival...
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40475257 Was reported as a 3 year deal when we signed him in 2017.
An ex Southampton player who has played only 6 games all season joining Portsmouth. Sounds bang on to me.
I questioned the transfer of Moncur to Luton because I felt we could be improving a promotion rival but I would be happy for the club to sell Isgrove to anyone, even a promotion rival. The chances are he won't be fit long enough to really have much of an impact anyway. That sounds harsh and I don't want it to but that's the reality. I like Lloyd and really wanted him to find the form he had during his first spell but his injury issues have limited any impact he may have had for us. Good luck Lloyd.
Or every goal they score/create hurts the team there playing and thus helps us out, depends on your outlook
Seeing as there is a mutual hate society on the south coast, with Bournemouth, Southampton and Portsmouth fans calling each other scummers (and worse) it does seem unlikely that the Pompey fans would welcome Lloyd with open arms. Why would they want a player who once scored a goal at Wembley? Of course if he scores a hat trick on his debut (AGAINST US MAYBE?) then that changes everything.
