Although I would love to go on Saturday, I've made the choice not to. That being said if we win, I'll be gutted that I wasn't there and the ones who have stumped up the cash to go will walk away thinking it was money well spent. £37 is a complete **** take and although I've just been paid and I've got the spare cash to go, I just don't feel I can line the pockets of LUFC in such a way. Its like going to a local pub and being charged a 5er for a pint of peroni when the next pub sells it for 3 quid. I know how much that drink is worth, so even paying 2 quid more rankles with me and I don't enjoy it as much. £2 is **** all in the grand scheme of things, but I'll still go next door for the same pint and enjoy it more. No football match should cost anywhere near £37, its just not value for money. I don't begrudge anyone for going or anyone for not, its up to the individual. I don't normally agree with redarmychris however I do think its a bit shitty that people are taking the moral high ground about people that have paid to go. Name calling is a bit w@nk as well you silly *******.
Think you'll find that most people who are not going because they feel it's too expensive, have just made that decision based on their own principles. I for one didn't realise that my own personal protest can only be valid if it's part of some "organised protest"? I was quite happy with my decision not to go, and not to give Leeds United any of my money. The one person in this thread, "throwing their teddy out of the cot" appears to be you. Enjoy the game though, COYR.
I can afford to go. I'm not going, because it's a rip-off. Others can do what they please: not my problem. Prices will never drop so long as people keep letting themselves be loved, though.
I do find it odd that football fans are critcising fellow fans for attending a match. And whilst I do think £37 is extortionate for football, people have to remember that value is completely subjective and is always likely to be an issue of contention amongst people.
I think the fact that we could buy cheaper tickets for either of our two Wembley finals last season, tells you all you need to know about the value at Leeds.
