Barnsley F.C have sat back for the last twenty minutes for as long as I can remember. I bet we're up there for the worst team at defending leads. I've lost count of the number of late equalisers we've let in or last minute defeats. It isn't a problem unique to Asbaghi or when we're doing badly. I've seen us chuck points away when we're up there. What frustrates me about last night is we sat back and made changes at the only point we were really on top.
I know what he means. You see it week in week out when a team at the bottom has a lead with 15 minutes to go. No matter what the Head Coach shouts from the sidelines you can see the team with the lead sinking deeper and deeper. That's where experience and leadership on the pitch counts for something - and we don't really have either. Madds and Helik are now experienced footballers, but they're not leaders. They should have been berating Matty Wolfe (in a positive way) to get him up in to midfield, rather than having him as an extra CB. And someone in midfield should have been issuing a sense of calm. But all we've got are kids playing on instinct and not experience.
Didn't notice Poya shouting much from the sidelines! We let Boro score twice doing this. He's way too defensive and we've shown we can't defend like this time and time again. Take responsibility Poya!
What would be normal would be we've gone in front playing a certain way so let's keep playing as we have been. What's not normal is we will sit back on a one goal lead when in our last home game we nearly threw points away by sitting back on a three goal lead.
So i keep asking why is the management still here. 11000 of us can see the problem but the half dozen running the club can't or the more likely they don't want to know
