Port Vale - Rant re Stewarding & Security

I nearly had some trouble a couple of years ago.</p>

I parked in the main car park , and as I was walking round, a gang of about 20 youths came running towards me, They soon stopped, turned and ran  when they realised I was with a transit van full of over sized dart players. </p>

PORT VALE V BARNSLEY

i am a port vale fan not 1 of the idiots who go for fights well i enjoyed the game but not all barnsley fans are innocent in april wen we beat you 5-0 there was trouble and it was started by barnsley fans the stewards are there to help us so the game can go ahead my mums a steward and she was subjected to a lot of abuse from barnsley fans in april but you also asked a question why do vale fans go thru the carpark by the away end well the answer there is some people go the pub after the game i hope in future you can come to vale park and have a quiet trip back to your vehicles

yesterday the stewards caused there own trouble all the fans were doin was standing up singing and the steards had to intervine there wud have bin no trouble if they hadnt and as for out side the ground there is too many police there for how many fans there accturly is in the ground i have bin ur ground and there were little chaves there u get them every where so u carnt point are club out from the rest of them

I've never heard fans sing there. It's like Oakwell - only quieter.

Thanks for posting Valebabe. I think you have a valid point here. Last season's game in April, we were always onto a hammering to nothing with an squard hot extremely by injuries. I was parked in the streets outside, rather than the car park. The Vale fans I spoke to before the game, in the shoop etc. were all polite and good bantered!

I did notice however, that there were some of our idiots present who only show up for a ruck. They sat just in front of me and chanted BNP slogans, not football chants during the first half. These guys didn't appear back in the stand for the second half.

As we clearly weren't going to get anything out of the game, I left 5-10 minutes before the end of the game to get 'on the road' before the traffics jams. These same guys were loitering with menace outside as I left. They were obviously there for one purpose only and it wasn't football sadly.

Keep the faith, while most of us have our idiots, they are outnumbered by many genuine fans.

 

First of all, may I send my best wishes to the lad who was hit in the face with the piece of wood,using a weapon as such isn't very brave and usually means you can't fight!

There are some nutters at Vale park and Stoke-on-Trent in particular is becoming more and more a violent place.
however, it is a minority and most vale fans are decent people, in future it would be best if you stopped off for a pint or to try and get into the vale pub which is right next door to the away end, it is, sadly best to avoid the town centre.

Anyway, i really enjoyed the game it was very open and could have gone either way.

Good luck for the rest of the season, apart from your home game with us!

thats funny you should say that as when we have been Oakwell in the past the only cheer i have heard all game is when the man on the tannoy said Sheff Wed were losing. I didnt hear a single song from Barnsley fans. Yesterday the Vale fans didnt stop singing. Unfortunatly there is only about 200 of us that sing so therefor its hard to hear us

 

do any of you know MR FROGATT???????? well ill tell you who he is he is a fround safety officer from the fa and in 2001 he shut down our stand THE PADDOCK (where the trouble was) and yesterday the stewards were told that if they couldnt control the fans as in them having to sit down they would have no option but to shut it down again WHAT WOULD YOUR STEWARDS DO IF U WERE PUT IN THAT SITUATION???????? it was them sas guys in the yellow coats that started the trouble

we have idiots that just come to cause a ruck and in football its wrong especially if theres kids about

you cant stop people from coming to vale park your no angel at oakwell

When Stoke played Cardiff a few years back.................

Cardiff fans were being escorted to the ground when a heard of Stoke fans ambushed them. They were armed with stanley knives and one of them even had a chain saw. It is a wise idea to not show your colours around the Stoke area.

rest of the 4000 are polite and will just walk on and mite even chat about it!
but were just as unhappy with the stewards and police- they just make it worse and worse every game and it was funny watchin the stewards **** themselves when the fans charged towards them ff
but for the 1 who says he goin complain

OK, there are idiots in all Clubs, these don not represent the Club, we all know that, but Nowadays, I travel safely.</p>

Hi all,just been given link to this site,some of you on here seem to know what you are talking about,some are full of sh=t.
The facts are...
If i was an away supporter going to port vale i would NOT wear my shirt,this would be because of the dickles thugs that roam the streets before and after.
Stoke is a totall **** hole and cant be a tempting place to come for a day out the best of times (having said that im not spending my summer holidays in barnsley).Iknow barnsley have got there five 0's and vale got there vlfs,but i mean come on..its nothing we aint seen before.
The barnsley lad who took a kicking,was a football hooligan looking for trouble and he got it. I have never seen vale fans attack a oposing fan who was not looking for trouble.
If these idiots want to live there life in police camcorder,or having there front doors booted in at 4 am by the police then let them get on with it.
