Re: I hope they go under Not sure. Theoretically they have to start at the bottom of the pyramid system (which is not very simple but I think it would be the equivalent of the 11th tier). However, I have a feeling that Chester, Halifax and Boston in their new incarnations managed to gain election higher up. Have a look here and see if you can fathom it out! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_football_pyramid
I've said it before, and I know some don't agree with it, but I reckon a big club like Portsmouth going under, might just be the wake up call the rest need to realise that reckless spending can't possibly help going forward. Portsmouth are now a league 1 club still with a premier league wage bill. Making the tea lady, kit men, ground staff redundant doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. I feel for the fans, I feel for the people losing their jobs, but it makes you wonder, would the death of one football club, save the livelihood of others.
Chester I was right about them, they started again in tier 8 on appeal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chester_F.C.
