A draw would be the best result from our point of view IMHO

I believe in just taking care of our own results, but lean towards a Bolton win being the best.
Only in hindsight would I choose one over the other & rather keep both teams within 9pts (for sure, would least like the Pompey victory :))

Miss of the season contender from Charles. Near enough open net from 5 yards and put wide.

Both sides impressive. On this evidence they’ll be the top two. We’re miles off these….

2 very good sides who’re both going for it, been a brilliant first half hour.

    Hope Neil is taking pointers…..

At oakwell we didn’t turn up first half but hammered Portsmouth second half and should have got a draw from game….so if we can get to the level we did in that second half I dont think we miles of at all….just hope its not a big “if”….also theres a long way to go yet this season

They are both nowhere near the quality of the top 4 last season we ain’t got going yet so I would,t rule us out.

Bit of an odd stat, but the last time a team who was in the top 2 on this date didn't win automatic promotion, was in 2020, and that was Lincoln City. Though because the season kicked off late that year, we were only 15 games in by this point. Lincoln were still top by match day 20 mind, and ended up losing in the play-offs.

I'd agree that Pompey looked knackered and relieved in the end, to hang on for the 2-3 win. Totally different though to how bad we were in the opening 20 minutes of that game.
They still don't impress me though like Plymouth and Ipswich did, as the top two from last season. And even though Oxford were doing well and were 2nd earlier on in the season, I thought they were in a fake position at that time.

Only watched from half time and Bolton have rarely put two passes together. Pompey a bit more up for it, but I’m not seeing any superior footballing style from either.

Both sides quality dropped markedly in second half. Bolton have been poor since half time.

I'm going for a nice fisty Palmer over Portsmouth, Peterborough, Bolton and Oxford.

Some keep saying that we're not doing very well right now, and that there is big room for improvement.
Well after seeing some of that tonight, it certainly doesn't seem impossible to me, for us to be thinking about promotion.
A lot can and will happen of course in the rest of the season, but Id definitely say we are 'nicely placed' right now in the table. ;)

Look at Bolton losing away to a direct rival. Sack him. Evatt out. Never looked like winning from behind. Evatt out. Only 2 shots on target. Sack him. Only 1 corner. Sack him.

Oh look, we're 5 points off automatic.

We're 'nicely placed' as you call it
..because we've lost 5 home games already.. and haven't beaten anyone above 13th..
