But bravery would lead to defeats. Like in 9 out of 10 games before he took over. Parking the bus at Peterborough is the depths we’ve fallen to. I can’t see how committing players forward or pressing high would’ve led to anything other than a defeat.
Sadly true. We don’t have the fitness to play Val’s style, or the ability to play any other style. Not sure what that leaves us.
As bad as it is to watch Poya can only build from the back to stabilise us, the result then comes down to fine lines of which team makes a mistake or takes a chance. But like you say the rot needs stopping.
Peterborough have only lost 3 times at home all season (West Brom, Bristol City, Fulham). They've the 8th best defensive record at home in the league. We've only had 3 points away from home all season and our last was 5 away games ago. Given our poor run that's a decent point away from home, in my book. Either way there's nothing we can do about the performance so I'll take the positive
Peterborough have the worst record over last 6 games in the Championship. We joint second worst with Luton, interestingly over the last 6 games the only difference between us and WBA is they managed 2 more draws in that period. Given WBA record over Managers Val might need to turn that round sooner than later. https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/championship/form-guide
But when you look at the last 6 before us QPR (home) - Win Huddersfield (home) - Draw The other 4 were losses to Swansea, Stoke, Fulham and Blackburn. All are top 9 teams.
We’ve played all those too(albeit it not in the same timeframe). Stats are there to be manipulated to suit a view point. As we have both just shown, both our Stats are correct. For what it is worth, despite the actual performance, I agree that a point away from home is a positive and hopefully it’s something to build on.
