Think the better option would be to accept that we would struggle to actually bring in a striker let alone 2 of better quality than we already have, therefore we’re better off concentrating on working on bringing one or two strikers in at the end of season as part of a long term rebuilding job under Duff. God forbid we pox promotion VIA the playoffs. Duff probably wouldn’t start the next season with us if that were to be the case, he would be snapped up in an instant, & this squad are nowhere near good enough to compete in the Championship. Let’s stay under the radar, make no panic signings this month, stick to the spreadsheet & identify targets ready to come in & improve the squad for a proper League 1 title challenge next season, & lay the foundations for a good few seasons in the Championship.
We can't achieve that longevity with our We haven't got the finances for that longevity. The best players will be sold.
Stick with what we’ve got, really? We have two, yes TWO strikers and no back up whatsoever. What happens if one or both of them pick up an injury? I fully agree that we are no where near being good enough for the championship but if we get a tilt at it via the playoffs we have to go for it. The mess the club’s finances are in dictate that. Terminate Josh Martin’s loan (Tedic too) and get a couple of fringe players out on loan like Marsh and Moon then surely that opens things up to bring at least one striker in.
Don’t disagree with you, but realistically do we trust Khaled to find us at least two attacking players & manage to actually get deals over the line? I don’t, not in the January transfer window anyway. It’ll all be left last minute as usual.
Get a decent goalscorer, and we'll be reight, the problem we have is beating everybody else to the signature, C,O,Y,R,
He'll announce a new kebab wrap. It'll be a sensation. Hitting the target as a culinary delight. Better than any striker.
