RE: you would have to improve your spelling first nt haha that is intentional int it!!! prob best speller on here me tha nos!
Lets see what they actually do, before saying its brilliant shall we Don thought 2 tickets per season ticket was a good idea remember!
good call.. Hey fraser
not only should the club be part of the town, but the town should revolve around the club.imo .. and I live 7 miles away.
(Y)

PC........why stop at 'our patch', what is our patch ?........YORKSHIRE TYKES When PC says our patch....I presume he means by that the Barnsley district But what about making in roads into the towns and villages just away from the district............i.e. Hemsworth, Ryhill, South Elmsall in fact all the Wakefield area Mexborough, Conisborough and Denaby in the Donny area.........theres plenty of TARN fans down there, we need more of them Swinton and Wath in Rotherham Thorpe Hesley and Chapeltown in Sheffield There's also parts of Huddersfield that Barnsley could make in roads into To be more successful at doing this we must recognise that we need to create a name or logo that people living away from the district can associate with..........and I think we already have one.......YORKSHIRE TYKES Someone from say Rotherham may not want to associate with something with a Barnsley label on it, but will jump at the chance of supporting something that has YORKSHIRE in the title. Advirtise in the Rotherham newspapers and the emphasis needs to be on YORKSHIRE TYKES play at Barnsley Football Club A different message needs to sent to football supporters actually living in the Barnsley district. We need to get the message out loud and clear that Barnsley Football Club is the football club that ALL football supporters in the Barnsley district should be following. This club represents people in the Barnsley district.
Nice one Patrick. Somebody gets it. Now let's see those words turned into actions. We're years behind other clubs and there's a lot of catching up to do, but we're behind you all the way.
Maybe... Let someone like JJB get a small cut from our shirt profits and get a few in their shops around Yorkshire.
Agree 100% With Patrick I've been proper impressed with all the good news we have heard this week. From getting a kit maker that's well known, to getting rid of the dee dar sponsor, to getting Barnsley back across our shirts, to free season tickets for under 11s, to money off adult prices and now this. Looking forward to seeing the plan put into action. Get on the phone to Radio Sheffield (Y) (Y) (Y)
RE: PC........why stop at 'our patch', what is our patch ?........YORKSHIRE TYKES Well said. I'm from Crofton, Wakefield originally. It's part of West Yorkshire but geographically nearer to Barnsley. The club did once go round the junior & infants schools in the area, premiership season i think but to my knowledge that's the one and only time. I think there would be a huge potential to get more fans from the Crofton/Walton/Streethouse/Sharlston areas if abit of touting was done. Most of the kids go watch rugby league as it's a big thing in these areas and alot cheaper, or they fall into the hands of the scum at elland road. with the excellet offers for tickets this season now is the time for the club to be targeting schools.
Yep, Fantastic news - go for it mr Cryne There seems to be a serious risk we are entering this century. You have to speculate to accumulate after all!
RE: Maybe... Think we may lose out on the JJB idea as most fans would prefer to shop there than the club shop with it being more spacious and having changing rooms etc. So therefore giving away a percentage of the profit that we already receive.
RE: Definately agree about Radio Sheffield It certainly does, fans have been starved of snippets of information this season that only Radio Sheff use to give. Not every fan has access to the internet. Get the dispute settled for next season and lets have as much air time as the sheffield clubs and Doncaster rovers. We don't want to be left out again do we?
Crofton eh? We (Stainborough Cricket Club) are playing Crofton this aft at Stainborough. I'm babysitting because my knee doesn't work. I have a funny feeling we are going to get a pasting. Do you know the club? Full of Coopers. Told you I was going to get back to "spouting crap"
RE: Crofton eh? Yes they're a big family in Crofton, they used to dominate the rugby league team aswell. I used to go and watch sometimes when i was little as i got to eat crisps and sweets all afternoon to keep me quiet! They used to have a good open day in the summer
Well you are most welcome at Stainborough this aft Can you play? If so you will be batting at number 4
RE: Well you are most welcome at Stainborough this aft Well thank you for that Steely. I can't play though. My Mum banned me from ever handling a cricket bat again at the age of 8. A boy on our street was bullying me calling me a tomboy, he was only jealous because i was better at football than him, he kept going on and on and before i knew it i'd him round the side of the head with the cricket bat. Forunately he only suffered a mild concussion. I do hope M1 tyke isn't reading this or he'll say my Dad had me in training for the picket line violence. Going to my sisters this afternoon for a barbecue if the weather stays nice, but thank you for the invite. I will take you up on it on a nice red hot day though, if we ever have one
Any Time Like you say, when we have a hot one. Nice story about the cricket bat, even though technically it is violence, but at 8 I suppose you could be forgiven. Have a nice barbie.
