They are better than nobody aren't they? The last time I checked the whole idea of a reserve team is that they are in reserve to cover for injuries etc, ours appears not to be, they are there to fulfil the clubs obligations to the league system and nothing more, our 18 **** strikers are there to replace anybody from Muller forward
RE: sorry well thats a fair point, but like I said above, most never get near the first team, so I assume that they are not up to the mark or not ready. Only 2 thats really been near the 1st team are johnson and atkinson. I agree about johnson, but something obvioulsy behind the scenes has gone off, so I think its safe to say we can all forget that he is even on our playing staff. Atkinson, capable from what I have seen, but no idea what's in his loan agreement either.
I can never understand Why, when we've got ourselves into the ascendancy, we start tinkering with the line up and/or the formation which then usually allows the opposition to grab the initiative.
RE: Ye your right because we have got loads of other options have'nt we To be fair he always puts 3 strikers on the bench. The bench is never a balanced one.
but davey signed johnson, he might have decided to forget this but i for one have not. we pay the bloke to not work, it is madness and ego's are getting in the way of the FOOTBALL club. Atkinson, we've all seen, he's played well but davey sent him out on loan saying he wasnt getting any action because of the first teamers he's brought in (that was the reason) the problem is we dont have enough first teamers as has been shown again tonight, and on saturday and all the other times that davey has named a bench containing more strikers than a party at arthur scargill's house
not disagreeing with ya. but we don't know whats in Atkinsons agreement, or what has actually gone off with johnson. (well someone on here will, but won't say owt probably) but in terms of ego's getting in the way of football... I agree 100% with that one, but it aint Davey or Cryne that's causing the ego problem I can assure you of that.
well johnson is an employee of barnsley fc, surely the only ego's that can possibly be preventing him from getting near our squad can be on the side of those picking the team? if it is johnson's ego and he is refusing to play he would have been sacked this time last year
well, i wasn't specifically referring to Johnson with that, so apologies for indicating in that direction. but there are issues elswhere, and there are other posters on this BBS who knows what that is. but like I said, whatever has gone off with Johnson doesn't seem to be something that will come out until he leaves, even if it does.
RE: who else was fit that could have been on the bench? nt Heslop and Meynell don't play for us anymore. And Adam's a striker.
oh my god is that a serious response! Now I am farily certain you did not go to the game and shouting instructions is obviously going to make a massive difference and put swansea off their game, I do not think any manager in their right mind would be happy if his team let a 2 goal lead slip! No pleasing some people!
that is quality, so the key to been a succesful manager is shouting instructions to players and you will never concede or make a mistake, obviously teams have never scored when a manager does shout "close him down!"
give over....so Kayode is to blame for us throwing away a 2 goal lead and SD is to blame for brining him on? **** it from now on Kayode is to blame for everything that goes wrong for the rest of the season and whenever we win we can say it must be down to the ref or the oppostion been poor becasue god forbid we can ever praise SD or KO! Watford at home Mosotto comes on scores, funny how SD gets no praise then!?!?
From what I've heard on the radio he did shout instructions. They just didn't listen. If that's the case he's every right to be angry!
I suspect Moore is straight back into the side as soon as he's available. Muller beaten from outside the area, hmmmmm, he's pulled of some world class saves, but he's by no means infallible. Hate to say this, but I think there are better keepers in the Championship.
