Miss Donny Reds posts , great poster and some wonderful stories . I learned he couldn’t speak near the end and he used to look forward to his grandson coming home from a match and giving him a full report and he then commented on here. Always respectful and seemed a very nice bloke. RIP Donny x
Wasn’t he the lad who went into journalism? The lass was F from memory I hoped he got balls deep too, and that they’re now married with 3 kids
Theres loads I miss - those sadly no longer with us such as oldtimer28 Uncle Mort and Steve S And those who no longer post Cazi in particular though she is active on facebook, but also the fun posters like Dirk Hartog and the Full Ponty, and the more serious posters like Paul.D There are also quite a few I dont miss but I wont name them on this thread
Calgary Tyke has never posted since then, although she often reads and even asks me to feedback on enquiries people have made. She is in touch with fellow Reds out there (including a certain Brendan O’Connell), and offers a warm welcome to fellow Reds who are in town.
hemsy I genuinely miss. his ability to wind everyone up and take the flak that he did, while remaining completely unflustered, was unsurpassed. lad was bulletproof. the others though - just taking the pi$$. from memory they were all trolls, and pretty unpleasant trolls at that.
Thereev was about as funny as a do it yourself lobotomy. Hemmsy was......impermeable may be the kindest.
Anyone missing Zaz can get their fix of his unhealthy brand of vitriol, hatred, and general negativity on Twitter. His political opinions are a Brucey bonus.
I thought hemmsy was magic. Other than his inexplicable pathological hatred for Bobby Hassell, I never heard him say a bad word against anyone. He never flinched on his opinions and for all the stick he got, he never got drawn in. I think that just served to wind people up even more. They just couldn’t get under his skin. Would love to see him back.
There was also his distaste for and dismissal of all things German, his belief that any player that had ever kicked a ball for Chelsea under 13s had to be better than any other player on the planet and the insistence that anything that came out of Nasser Hussain's mouth had to be the unchallengeable word of truth. Infuriating but maybe I miss him too
