How do you know that the S stands for sheffield? I've always assumed that it does but how do you know for sure? (somebody suggested its S for south yorkshire)
RE: Again. The S stands for Sheffield and is therefore a Sheffield postcode nt I would say S stands for Sheffield. Same as DN is Doncaster and LS is Leeds etc...... I don't think it's anything to do with your postcode. I'm originally from Ponte and my Post Code was WF. If anyone asked me where I was from I said Pontefract (Then usually followed with "Oh right what part of Wales is that" (doh) ) But my mate used to reply to the same question with "Leeds" or "Yokshire" I'm proud of where I'm from but some dont feel the same loyalty. I'm from Bolton on Dearne Which is included in Barnsley along with Thurnscoe and Goldthorpe. In my experience, people from there are just as likely to support Donny, Rotherham, the Sheffields or Leeds, not to mention the usual Liverpool/Arsenal/Man U lot.
You know what I look like I can't remember you like, but if you want a word just come on up and have a go.
The right to vote. Ending Apartheid. The Reunification of Germany. Postcodes. All causes worth fighting for.
I concur It's not just postcodes though, it's anything that you disagree with him about. He's straight in with the snide comments, but he can't take it. If you give them him back he's talking about keyboard warriors and how you wouldn't say that to his face. Well he's more than welcome to come up to me and ask me about it personally.
Why go into Barnsley to shop, its not a patch on Doncaster that is why the people in places such as Goldthorpe go to Donny to shop, there isnt a decent shop in Barnsley town centre.
