I pretty much agree with all of this, although my indexes say that we are worse under the new guy than we were under Schopp. I tried to defend Schopp against attacks by the frustrated fans. My point then, as it is now, was that Schopp was a shield for the board and for the mistakes that they made during the summer. Now, I do not know if there are financial reasons for the lack of investment during the summer. It is almost certain that the club will have lost money last season when COVID prevented supporters attending games. Perhaps spending was restricted because there was little cash available. Perhaps Conway does not know enough about the game to act as a stand-in CEO. The only thing that we can be sure of is that our investment bought us a lot of players who are not ready for The Championship. Personally, I cannot see even one of Leya Iseka, Oulare, Gomes or Benson who is ready, and no-one knows about Vita because no-one has seen him. The signings looked desperate, even at the time. I think any chief coach would struggle under current conditions. My only regret is that we spent money paying off Schopp when he was not the one who was at fault. The critics at the time were bought off cheaply.

My only real grievance with Schopp was him playing Moon in midfield but having seen how our natural midfielders have performed I’m not even sure that was a bad choice. We’re desperate for some one in there to toughen us up a bit.

What if it's the boardroom saying that's the way we should play?

If it is then why sack Schopp? I don’t think that’s the case. Poya came in & tried to play with a back 4 & has then reverted to a 3 after seeing how all over the place we looked.

I don't think he would have . But we've deviated from the attacking, pressing football that the owners reckoned wad to be our identity.

To take the pressure off them for the closure of the West stand?

He's talking as though staying in this league doesn't matter so I wouldn't be surprised if he started in league 1 as manager.

Poya got sacked in his last club job. Again wrong choice for the situation we find ourselves in - but we all knew that.
Still waiting for Oulare to come to our rescue too….

And Oduor up front, and Brittain in midfield...

Moon didn't toughen us up in midfield though. If anything, it highlighted our weaknesses more.

I didn’t have a problem with Oduor up top. At the time Morris & Oulare we’re injured. Leya Iseka wasn’t fit enough & Adeboyejo & Frieser were both poor.

Didn’t Brittain only play there once? I don’t have a problem with that either. The natural midfielders have been terrible.

Moon isnt good enough the only midfielder worth a place is gomes, people were raving about benson because he came from a premier league side but in reality their fans on twitter said he wouldnt be good enough for the championship his only real league experience came on loan at then league 2 grimsby.
Palmer isnt good enough and i imagine his contract wont be renewed.

For me schopp kept picking odour when he is about as much use as a chocolate firegaurd. Leaving cole in the 23s also schopp kept the same ***** tactics and formation and expected a different result.

Like i said previously i think these useless head coaches are just yes men. We had opportunities to give the job to experienced english head coaches untill the end of season but we give it to a 36 year old. I honestly think like when stendel was told not to play cavare or pinnilos someones wispering in poyas ear even the subs were strange last week the game was crying out for cole with huddersfields high line and tired legs but we bring on victor?? Wouldnt be able to do that with a english head coach of a decent standard he would tell them where to go.

Whilst Frieser and Adeboyejo have often been found wanting, both are a vast improvement on Oduor in my opinion. At times, it was like playing with 10 men with Oduor in the side.

Moon and (maybe it was only once) Brittain were being preferred over Gomes at one point in time. The game where Brittain played in Midfield, I believe we had Hondermarck at centre half. There were far too many square pegs in round holes, when we had round pegs available.

I get that we were always going to have a downgrade from Ismael, but I think with Schopp, we went from one end of the spectrum to the other.

I honestly don’t think Frieser or Adeboyejo have done any better than Oduor. It’s not something I had an issue with.

I agree about that Middlesbrough game. That’s the one game where I felt team selection was a bit all over the place. I get that we were down to just two fit centre half’s but we could’ve tried a back 4 to get round that.

There was a spell where Gomes couldn’t do much more than half a game & with Styles playing at wing back & Benson been injured you would have to replace both of Gomes & Palmer if they both started the game. It’s ridiculous that this was the case but we had several players that weren’t fit enough 3 months into the season & in Oulare’s case 4 months & counting.

I appreciate others rate Hondermarck but I missed the Sheff Utd game where he apparently did well & in the two sub appearances I saw him play central midfield I thought he looked nowhere near championship standard.

I forgot about Cole. I don’t know what his situation is & why he hasn’t been picked regularly under any manager but to me he does look like he has a bit more than the others mentioned.

I think I remember he was a bit of a bad apple when he was here first time round & couldn’t get himself to the ground on time so I hope it’s not that.

I just find it hard to get annoyed at certain players been picked when the others have been so poor. There’s only really Collins, Brittain, Styles, Helik, Anderson & Morris who I absolutely want in the team every week & two of them have been injured most of the season. Whoever makes up the rest of the team is lucky to be wearing the shirt on this seasons form

My contract with the club was terminated in September, despite holding season tickets we haven't been since then. I have never seen such a self inflicted series of negative events both in our squad development, ground facilities and club in general. Poya aint the problem.

There can be if you drill and prepare the players better. You can also motivate them better. He hasn't succeeded that way either though.
