Saddam was the lesser of two evils. This is what those who supported the war didn't get back then and don't get now. It's still pointless discussing it because despite recent history proving all their arguments to be correct, there are some people who would rather ignore fact and stick to the same tired old tropes.
I assumed you were despite you getting his nationality wrong; he was Jordanian. On your other points, I never said that 9/11 was anything to do with Iraq, quite the contrary so I'm really not sure what you mean by historical revisionism. Take some time to read my other posts in this thread and point out where I have said anything that you find revisionist.
Latest! Donald Trump's campaign manager charged with battery. Seems funny to me. So I may be feeling better.
You attacked several posters/people I was just sticking up for the minority by saying their opinions are just as valid as yours so it begs the question who's the ignorant **** HtFh
You're quite right he is, I stand corrected. Well that's how I took this particular exchange: The inference being that 9/11 caused the formation of ISIS, not the bombing if Iraq? Apologies if I'm misunderstanding.
It's not about 'superiority'. You're confusing facts with opinion, which of course you're entitled to. However it is a fact that: 1. Iraq was invaded 2. Foreign fighters went to Iraq 3. Militant groups formed out of these fighters plus ex-Saddam commanders 4. ISIS grew out of those militant groups. 5. This type of outcome (without the specifics obviously) was one of the things that those objecting to the invasion of Iraq said could/would happen. There are of course similarities to what happened in Afghanistan during the 80's when the US backed Islamic groups in trying to remove the USSR from the country. One of those fighters and his groups were armed by the CIA and later went on to form al-Qaeda. The CIA called it "blowback".
Having read your last post I actually think we're not too far apart now. Although the invasion of Iraq did give Al-Zarqawi the inspiration to form ISIS, through his Tawhid and Jihad group, he was an evil b'stard who had been sentenced to death in absence. Iraq was the catalyst but evil was at the root.
What about this and the ignorant people sticking to their tired old tropes not your opinion so can't be right
