But its not just about spending on one player mate, look at someone like Coventry, Eastwood and Morrision - we can't offer the wages to attract them and I for one am glad we don't. We need to be a sustainable club that has a budget funded by attendances and merchandising interests. Occasionaly Patrick Cryne will help us out with a Hume but you have to look beyond what a club pays for a player. Another prime example Cardiff
Don't disagree really and I think thats a good reasoned response. Davey makes mistakes, like lots of other managers do. I personally think the positives of the quality players he has brought in outweigh those mistakes and he is young and will learn. But all in all I think there are some people who would criticise him if we won the FA Cup and got in the play-offs. I can accept he has made mistakes but i find it difficult to understand how some people can't see that he has done good things and he has fulfilled his remit. Cryne seems to think so
Well said mate - a little bit of balance is required. Jay and Supertyke always tend to be more negative than most but have their right to be concerned. Davey's performance over the past season and a half have earned him the right to have another full season in charge. The expectations should be that we will face another season of struggle and we will so well if we stay up.
I find it just as difficult to understand why some people think that he has done such good things. What did he do, that was so good last season? and don't mention Liverpool and Chelsea because we all know that they were exceptions to the rule. Don't say that the Cup run made things difficult because we were already in trouble league wise, before the cup run got started. Please don't say that he "kept us up" because he was responsible for putting us in the relegation zone to start with. Just what did he do?? Just to finish off, how do you know that Cryne thinks he has fulfilled his remit. Do you know what instructions he has recieved from Mr. Cryne, for the coming season??
well well well its finally getting through that 1,davey was only appointed because he was the cheapest option.2,that he will never be able to manage a football team while ever he has a hole in his rectum.3,he is taking BFC to oblivion.wake up all you who kneel to the cryne davey altar, they are taking us down.
I'd have thought that after 2 seasons in the Championship, that we would have been looking forward in our 3rd season, to the prospect of at least a top 12 finish, and instead all we can do is brace ourselves for another difficult season. because tbh some of the signings we have made, and some of our existing players, dont seem to be the ones who'll take us forward
I don't expect anything like a top half finish, I know that we are probably punching above our weight in this league. What I do expect is that we manage to assemble a stronger squad each year (especially so after our cup run) and become more competitive to maintain gradual improvement. The bookies aint stupid, that's why we're favourites for the drop once again. All this strengthening talk at the end of last season with "significant funds" available has turned out to be a load of tosh. We start this season with a much weaker squad than we started last season FACT. We have the slowest back four in the league FACT. We have the worst strike force in the division FACT. We have the most lightweight midfield (without De Silva) in the division FACT. I am sorry Simon but that just isn't good enough.
