I was being slightly tongue in cheek. 'Roughly the same'.

don't think i've seen anyone point out yet that it's pre-tax profit and we'll end up getting shafted by HMRC, so theoretically aren't making any profit.

That's about it. If the turnover had been greater under Hill he'd have got more. If it had been smaller under Robins he'd have got less.

We're analysing a million quid this way or that way when many clubs at our level are losing much more per year than our turnover, having started with a far bigger budget.

Tough job managing Barnsley. Still don't think Hill did well on it though, even after seeing the figures, but I accept it's a very big disadvantage.

I go back to the fact that from next year the bottom club in the Prem gets £60mill - our turnover is £8.5 mill.

It's becoming an impossible task. Well, a deliberately manufactured impossible task that maintains the 'top' clubs financial positions even if relegated.

Re: Didn't someone post on here that Rowing had said at the BBS meeting that Robins

I asked him the question directly.

He said the budget was roughly the same. He didn't say wage budget, he said budget, so wages and transfer fees and associated costs like signing on fees and agents fees. He also said that came with a caveat: Robins was given additional funds, above and beyond the original budget, for the signings of Harewood and Gary O'Connor. I would imagine extra was also given for McShane who signed on loan towards the back end of the season, but he didn't mention that.

As grim reading as it is this is last years figures and doesn't show what budget keef had for this season.

As for the 33 players in the squad for this season... Down to 29 now the loans have gone. There is a lot of money being frittered away.

Mido and Silva won't be cheap. Then there is the forgotten men in Collins and Edwards not forgetting ehutu who turned down a 'decent wage' at Pompey. If there isn't the best part of a million a year getting *****ed away ill be surprised.

Do you expect this season's to be much different? more of the same l'd imagine, monthly loans won't knock much into £6 million. Lowest wage bill in the league & bottom of the league, only a matter of time before we were squeezed out of the league.

Like a told thi on twitter 33 players on peanuts by Championship standards.

    Define championship standards...

Average wage last season was 250k a year.

Surely the average wage will be less this year given there's more players but the same budget.

Plenty of top earners have gone (Doyle, Gray, Jay Mc, Foster on reduced terms).

Where's the average wage from? if that's true then we could afford 25 staff on the "average" wage with a £6.2 million wage bill so it fair to say the majority of our playing staff were on a lot less than that.

I said we would have nowhere near £8 million it'll show when the accounts are released.

Hang on, average wage for our club or the Championship?

I think there'll be sufficient accumulated tax losses brought forward to cover that profit

Mido 4k a week - well documented. And also one of highest earners. If Silva is on that I'll eat mi own ball sack.

Edwards might be, can't see Collins on anything like it. Same with Etuhu.

Let's be reight, he took a lot of gambles. They didn't pay off with results. But Davies/Vaz Te were gambles and they did. That's it in a nutshell.

They shouldn't be included in wages figures as reported in the accounts.

I'm planning to download them later on and have a read through them though. £1 to do the same via the Companies House website.

Marlon quoted as being on three times less now than when he signed first time. Blackpool were paying max 10k. I bet he was on 9k.

Cryne gave Robins an extra 500k. Fact. He probably spent that on those 3 players. Just doing some sums.
