Must be an age thing, I used to watch match of the day and all the finals (FA Cup, League Cup, European Cup etc), now I never watch any of them.

I think the premier league has been inadvertently gaslighting itself. I don't know about anyone else, but my interest hasn't just fallen off a cliff, it's been quietly creeping up on me without me noticing. And here we are today, bemoaning the " best league in the world". The only people who believe that are the ones who think more money equals better!

I still watch - mainly for Fantasy Football purposes. There's nothing better than your captain scoring a hat trick.

I think it’s better than it has been for a long time. I really went off it during the spells when Mourinho was at Chelsea & Benitez at Liverpool & Fergie was still at Man Utd & every big game just seemed to be 4-5-1 with no attacking intent. A lot of the bottom half sides only attacking intent would be to fight for second balls from punts upfield.

Nowadays most games are exciting with most of the league pressing high & having a go regardless of who they play. I think this season is on track to have more goals than any other premier league season. There’s been some brilliant games, several 4-4’s & 4-3’s. The only real shame has been that the 3 promoted sides have gone straight back down but I think that’ll be a one off as I’d expect Leicester & either Southampton or Leeds (if they go up) to make a far better go of it.

Depends how Barnsley and Spurs are doing for me. If both are winning and playing well I'll watch every game that's on TV regardless. I get the footballing bug.

The thing is with Leeds, most neutral fans loved it and really took the mick.
They went down to Lg One under Master (Ken) Bates' ownership in season '06, and it was ages before they eventually got back to the Prem.
Where they insist they belong of course!.
But you just knew they were going to do it one day, eventually, even if they have been relegated again since.

They'll eventually get it right again though in the Premier League. When that happens they'll be insufferable. Like it or not they're a massive club.

I actually think a big reason why many on here are fed up of the premier league is because Man Utd are crap. Loads of Barnsley fans seem to have Man Utd as a 2nd team.

Are you suggesting we just ignore any breach of the rules?

The squad has achieved great things, no doubt. But a large factor in their success is the insane depth of quality in the squad.

I find it ***** because 1 the same club win it every year cheating with 114 ffp charges against them while teams like forest and Everton who have 1 get points deducted so in theory city should have had a deduction and arsenal won the league.

Teams like Chelsea hoard young players loaning them out here the and everywhere. They also spend over 1 billion to be bang average.

Sky and tnt tell you its the best league in the world as they want your cash but in reality villa got hammered by a bang average team in Europe over 2 games, no English sides in a European final. Pep and City spend billions to eventually win a champions league last season.

Used to love the premier league in the 90s and early 2000s it's not for me now though.

When I lived and played in Hong Kong there were rules that stated a club had to field at least two players under 21 and no more than five foreign players. I’m not sure if it’s the same after 1997. The only club to have dispensation were HKFC, founders and only amateur club in a professional league. It would make the game more interesting, strengthen academies and improve the national team. Having said that it will never happen unless FIFA/UEFA applied it universally. Also there would be so much opposition from the elite clubs who want the cream of foreign talent.
