Paying some of the lowest wages in our division

We can't really expect ex-Premiership players.</p>

Realistically it's the higher wage paying clubs that take Premiership cast-offs and we get either</p>

1) cheap imports</p>

2) the better players from relegated sides (Hume, JCR)</p>

3) half decent players who have been displaced fromone of the higher wage paying clubs because they've picked up a Premiership player in their postion</p>

We don't really know that we are paying the lowest wages

While we can safely assume that Birmingham and Reading have two of the highest we can only speculate about most other clubs budgets

It's just an excuse to trot out if fans demand more

I'm basing the lowest wage bill on quotes from players agents

When players we've been interested in go to another club</p>

The agents always say that we were offering considerably less money. I can only assume with it being said so often by people who frankly don't care a jot about the image of Barnsley football club that there's some grain of truth in it</p>

I'm fairly sure I've seen some stats to back it up as well, but ...</p>

 

Those 'stats' you saw got labelled lies by some folk on here.

Probably because it made them realise we weren't doing too bad considering what we're spending. Which they couldn't handle.
