I can assure everyone that his existence is not a pleasant one. Paedos, rapists and terrorists are prime targets for other prisoners. Now my lad’s job is to protect these scum bags but sometimes he is too busy to react A death sentence would be more acceptable than the years of watching your back.
Would be great but getting people off drugs who are physically dependent on them is a long hard process which is hard for them aswell, i think the u.k has a massive problem with drugs which the government has lost the battle with since the 90s. And I'm not sure they deserve preferential treatment over other who have been in jail for jobs.
I'm not suggesting preferential treatment. All prisoners who aren't beyond rehabilitation should be better equipped to work upon leaving prison.
Not related specifically to OP, but I find the worst aspect of the BBS is the use of the word/phrase "do gooder" and it always being used in a negative tense.
I don't know what prisoners do or don't get, but those saying its not a holiday camp, you're obviously right but - surely better to give them (small) incentives, as boredom would be a hell of a lot worse. As for the death penalty, apart from the moral aspect of it, doesn't that give everyone free rein just to do what the fk they want until they are locked up?
Part of the problem is that prison officers are massively underpaid for what the job entails. I think starting wage for a prison officer is 23k which is pretty disgraceful in my opinion. Should be at least 30k.
I think they start on just over 30k now got put up a few years back as wasn't attracting many and few were staying.
