Yes, perfect, the lady knew exactly what I wanted. I took a Mr Bean mask with me to help me explain. Thanks for the tip, all masks now complete and will be exhibited on Sunday evening in here http://www.apresskisoelden.at/de/schirm-bar.html

Now I finally know what to do when retired!

Good. It's awful when you offer advice, but what you say turns out to be wrong and you just waste someone's time.

I think yours and Kanecat's advice in this thread are the most helpful. I've already followed yours, will have to concentrate hard to follow Kanecat's. Thanks again.

    Sölden in Austria http://www.soelden.com/

It's my second home, in the winter anyway, mainly German visitors so not so well known amongst the Brits, but superb mountain views all the way up to over 11000 feet. Breathtaking scenery in the evenings too.

    I used to use

Garmisch Partenkirchen a lot the Yanks had a base there and as a sertviceman at the time I could use their BX(their version of a NAAFI) it got you cheaper ski passes and the ability to boy ski kit at tax free USA prices... I got a fab pair of OLIN skis there for a fraction of the price in uk. then if you go along the valley that leads to the border with Austria there are all sorts of fantastic little ski towns with some amazing slopes that you will be hard pushed to find in any brochures. But have a great time , have not done Solden but looking at the ski maps it does look pretty good.

    Re: I used to use

Been to Garmisch a couple of times and I know the road you mean and the villages including Lermoos and the highest mountain in Germany, Zugspitze. It's great skiing but quiet night life, which is why I prefer Sölden. Us young 'uns need summat to do in the evenings.

Zugspitz was the scene of almost war being declared on USA by Wales

at the middle station some American guys got talking to my and my wife.

They asked what part of the UK we were from , I proudly said Yorkshire.

My Wife said Wales... they asked her if Wales too was a County in England...

" yer on yer own Lads" said I and went to the bogs
