Age means **** all. I'm not saying they should go bring him back. Never said that. I'm saying they should have retained him. No way would we be so open in central areas if he was playing. And then looking at Stephen Pearson who's a joke player, well, that's just laughable. Thing is, mate, you've completely changed your usual stance. No problem, you can post how you want. But it's hard to figure you out when under the last couple of managers you were saying it was daft to ignore Hassell, yet under Danny, you can pass it off. Not just you either. A few on here have done it. It's as though Wilson is untouchable. I'm not calling for any manager to go. But I'm not sticking my head int sand and ignoring so much that's gone wrong since he returned, just because it's Danny Wilson. The bloke showed us no loyalty in 1998. And so whilst I'll always appreciate what he did for us back in the 90's, I'll judge his second spell on the stuff he's done and decisions made in this spell. And I'm finding it harder to understand what he's doing. I'd hoped last season was him struggling with another blokes misfit squad. But this is now his squad, barring a couple of laikers who everybody said were the best in the division. And so after ten games, I think we've missed an experienced, old head in midfield. And in my opinion we had a good option at the club. A bloke that lives and breathes BFC. So I'll mention it.
How Hassel was treated mainly for non footballing reasons under those two was disgraceful I have more faith in DW that on balance the player he had available to him was not the player he once was. Furthermore it has become customary to confuse loyalty and commitment and over evaluate this when remembering someone footballing talent I saw BH many times. I saw a committed footballer every time and many times one that you would want but what I can't see now is a player that would be all that reliable given his injury records only caused by such a lack of football. It would be churlish to denigrate his footballing ability any further. This second spell has been terrible. But BFC is a very different proposition to the club he left in 1998 Like I've posted elsewhere, we wasted an entire season from a commercial point of view last season and the culture of sacking managers as well as the just enough being good enough culture has come from somewhere... Top and bottom of it I'd like to think we could recruit (by statistics or whatever!) a better option that a 34 year old playing out if position without a club and having only played a handful of games in the last 4 years...
Aye, I agree with most of that. And I'd agree on Hassell had I seen him struggle at any point. And, if we'd recruited a better option in there. But we ant. We ant recruited a right back at all, and none of our forrads can hold a ball up.
