Not me. It would be hugely hypocritical of me to suddenly change my mind about PR just because it would deliver a result I didn't want. Objectively, tonight's results just confirm the opinion that FPTP isn't remotely fit for purpose.

Interesting. Under PR we'd have a progressive coalition with a reasonable majority, assuming Lab/Lib Dem/Green were capable of working together. I can't say I'd be unhappy with that.

People vote differently when their vote matters. Voting Reform as a protest is one thing, but if that vote may actually put a candidate in Westminster... there's a lot of people wouldn't do that.

I voted Labour. I'm delighted they've won. But if I knew my vote really counted it would have gone to Green. It went to Labour to help ensure Barnsley South did not elect a Reform candidate.

No I agree that could happen, but not giving the extra £100 100% guarantees it won't be spent on them!

 

The only thing is that if Reform hadn't targeted Tory seats it could possibly meant a Reform/Tory coalition?

 

Possible I guess. Voting patterns would be far from identically replicated in a PR election. But overall I still think it's far more likely that a progressive block would win.

 

All cases are not exactly the same. But I’ve seen this put people into financial difficulty through no fault of their own. And when saying that, I mean that they now have to fund two households from a wage that struggles with one. Whilst the other party in the deal does nothing but makes contact with the child as difficult as possible.
