My personal notapennymore stance against these owners started on 29th September 2019( the day Ollie Watkins scored a hatrick for Brentford),I had a season ticket that season like every season for 15 years prior but I made a decision to walk away until these owner's have gone and I still haven't seen my beloved Barnsley home or away from a stadium seat since. To the players and coaching staff well done today for a great result.
Credit to you, KFC, and really pleased that you brought the kids to a match a BFC fan can be proud of. I'm a WSU season ticket holder. I hope the kids are fired up by a match in which The Reds did us proud and it was great to hear the support round the ground in the second half. Hope that's "lit a spark" for some future Reds fans.
Selling the spine of a successful promotion winning team and replacing them with untried youngster's (the best transfer window ever).Told me all I wanted to know about the way these owners where going to run our club.I had just witnessed a Brentford team rip us apart and all I could here was a little voice in my head saying we keep getting told that these owners where just like the Brentford owner's and I knew then that we were totally different to them ,These owners sell at a price that makes them a profit teams like Brentford make top dollar on their sales and invest good money on players that are first team ready now and that improved their team
Only people who don't really get the Brentford model or know the background behind their owner suggested it was/is the same model though. They took on a £100m investment to get started/keep going. Understand your frustration, and that little voice is in many a supporter's head, but how were those player sales any different to Hourihane, Winnall and Bree when we were on the cusp of the Playoffs?
The selling of those players where inevitable because of contract length, The lindsay,Pinnock and Moore sales did not have to happen in the summer window!
No you're right. They could have happened in January, but we made that mistake under Cryne didn't we and got arguably less than the players were worth. Although with Moore I think we had to let him go in reality. The issue was not replacing him after agreeing to sell.
