I've done some (Leeds, Charlton, Bradford, Scun thorpe) and as it was only a fiver I fancied going. Basically, I'm a tight arse and if it's cheap I'm all for it (exception of Leeds being expensive but I live here so I save on travel).

I may have mixed you up with somebody else, I thought you'd never done away games before.

As I say, I've done the above once and Leeds quite often. I will only go if it's somewhere I'm really familiar with (Leeds/Bradford) or if it's cheap and easy to get to (Charlton on free coaches and Scun thope as it was only a tenner and was dead easy to find).

If going by coach I personally prefer the official coaches. It's quieter I'd admit but I wouldn't say boring. Some lovely folks are regular on it.

I hate coaches full stop and only use them if the train is ridiculously expensive - but I'd sooner go on a pub coach, you can make more of a day of it, have a few beers somewhere different, even have a good chat with the locals at a lot of places, never understood how people think getting off the coach at the ground half an hour before the match starts and then straight back on after is a good away day?

Went with Courthouse today, £12. Set off at 9, got to Chorley for 11ish. A few decent boozers, bite to eat, nice place. Got to ground about 2.30ish. Top lads, no bother, great day out.

When it's 9 quid cheaper with Courthouse and with a stop somewhere first I don't blame you. Sometimes official coaches don't even have a toilet on so people end up going at the side of the road after getting the driver to stop (pre coach drinkers). I've never believed the club should make a profit off fans who want to travel to support the club. They can't make much profit even at those silly prices, but selling tickets just at break even would make a big difference to many fans on deciding if they were to go.

If it was £21 yesterday on the official coach and it was full they will have made at least £500 profit, maybe £600, the coach will have cost no more than £400. Rip off

That's how Gordons make their money. It all evens itself out when it is only £23-£28 to go to Southern away games. £25 to Portsmouth a few years ago.

No, it's a profit making RIP off mate every trip at those prices. We charge (Courthouse) a lot less and still make a small profit most games, certainly over the season, so how much more are they making on the official coaches? Thousands of pounds trust me

Must have been given wrong information but 16 is still too much. Pubs should make a small profit anyway from the bother of having to order the coaches and deal with any issues. As many as possible should go on them rather than the official ones.

No, it came from somebody who was on the official coach - £16 fare plus £5 match ticket = £21 altogether

I'll tell you what are rip-offs - coaches for school trips. We get charged £300-£400 minimum even if we are only going to Leeds from Bradford with 60 kids.
