I''ll hold you to that mate.

One last thing though. I went to the Publican Awards and was lucky enough to sit next to an old couple from somewhere in Lancashire who's been nominated for best family pub. They'd be in the pub nearly 20 years and had kept all the main features other than tweaks here and there. No big cash spend and really down to earth. I was also up for two awards one year (best cask ale and best craft beer pub), and yes I was owned by a big plc but no money had been spent on the pub for three years (and my company only throws thousands, not millions), and we didn't serve any of the beers from the big boys.

The Publican Awards don't favour the big boys and often reward some real entrepreneurs who have turned a pub around with a vision rather than a big refurb

    Deadmunds ?

Chuff me Jay, do you go in the 'posh' side ? if so you must be the youngest by 20 years. I'm a callow youth at 54.

Actually, we go down as a posse about once a month on a Saturday night, it's quite nice, no loud music, no punch ups eee... nice rocking chair and slippers. ;)
