Mr Reev has hit the proverbial nail on the head! Showing more intelligence than I sometimes credit him. It's the Boddingtons league of the FA as Melanie Sykes would say. Keep carping on Mr Reev
I don't mind Dr Zaz. Don't always agree with him. But he offers decent opinions. You can tell he goes to watch BFC.
Like I said..........'There isn't going to be many teams that gets promoted within these three leagues that's isn't going to struggle'. I'm sure the managers of all the 3 teams mentioned above, before the season started, would say that they will have had a successful season if they don't finish in the bottom 3. Whats evident is the spending power of any team that gets promoted. Luckily for the 3 teams mentioned they have considerable financial backing.............Barnsley, comparatively speaking, doesn't.
Brentford chairman targeted playoffs, and Wolves want promotion. Not sure about Rovrum but they've thrown money at it.
O'Dear Does that mean Mr Reev is a gogglebox supporter and frequents Oakwell only once in a Blue Moon ? Perhaps he has just gone down a notch in my estimations if this is true !
No, I think he's a regular. My point was, you can tell from your posts that you watch BFC. Whereas thereev has no real opinions on the game/players, except for saying we're/they're crap etc. Maybe it's part of the character he's trying so hard to portray on here? Dunno.
Erm just THIS division ? as the world populace expands , its an acceptable fact that talented people are gonna come along in every walk of life. Also developing countries are going to throw out talents of every kind. The stage of sport is going to be an attraction for many. This is why the football leagues across the world are going to be under difficulty to cope with all the talent. I am certain their are some spectacular players of all sports who are untapped. I have to wonder how long it will be until we get a system on the lines of the "XFACTOR" FFS that will identify talent.... but hey should a club not call that its "SCOUT" system
Basically my friend I am saying that as the world population gets bigger and bigger, the room for talent gets smaller and smaller. Already the Premier league is swamped with overseas players , as are most of the national leagues of Europe. I am beginning to think that we need to expand the leagues ,and open up the stages that up and coming players can get in the system. This is not just soccer its all sports . I do realise that various academy's etc are in place, but for me its not coping.
E Well, thereev has been watching the reds over 35 years, from the days of jim iley to present date. Seen some great players from Aylott, Glavin, Hignett etc. Seen some carp und n all but that's footy. Hignett my personal fav over the years but not many from current era... Stones was clearly top class but went too soon for bfc. But to be fair to the lad, he would have been mad to stay. Stones apart we aunt had much the last ten years but that coincides with our constant struggles. We have had some decent talent but not much..... Buttercup was ok but not as good as Whitey thinks! As for this season, Hourihane oozes quality but no doubt he'll tootle off when he gets a mega wage offer. So I am a regular Dr. Not missed many home games in that 35 odd years. Yes I have dropped off the away games due to expense and children commitments. So just because I disagree with others and their views, my views are just that......and correct too!!!!!!!! Where I do agree with Whitey is that family and friends come way before bfc. In fact since I had kids, it has become clear that bfc arnt even at the races in the commitment stakes. Up the reds
They come first for everybody I would hope. Hence why I like 'Buttercup', the child of my missus. Although I do rate him as a footballer, but not as much as folk imagine. He's a top end Championship laiker, don't think he's Premier League class. But then, I think I've seen worse lads in the England midfield recently...
