Question for the Davey supporters.

We've definitely got better players Nudger

Trouble is, at this moment in time, they are not performing any better than the team that came up to this division under Andy Ritchie. And it's not the quality of the individuals that counts, it's how they perform as a team. Not that I'm clamouring for the head of our manager, but it's an important point.

On a shoe string...........is comparative

Bottom 3, the bottom club has paid £2.2 million for just ONE striker
Excluding Hume, all our strikers put together didn't cost that much
If Davey was given £2.2 M to purchase a player.............we wouldn't be in the bottom 3 now thats for sure

But SD and PC know this, they dont need telling I'M SURE !!!............they went for Phillips they went for players like Lisbie.........a couple of players up front like these two guys and we would now be Top 10 maybe top 6
Our goalkeeper, defence and midfield dont concede that many goals...........but we just cant score, its as simple as that
Donny was a flash in the pan (I hope not, but I think it was) the problems up front have not been solved yet.

The players Davey has brought in are probably better than Richteas but it's not the players we are talking about. It's the manager. If he can't get them playing football and winning matches then it wouldn't matter if he had Ronaldo and Rooney up front.

4 goals, whilst impressive, were scored against a very fragile, confidence lacking Donny defence.

I seriously hope we start to score 1-2 goals in nearly every game, else it's always going to be a struggle, whatever league you're in.

 

I would say that a player of athletic ability such as Odejayi ..........

................should be ripping to pieces teams such as the York City reserves

Nowhere in the clip that I saw was there any evidence of this

Probably the greatest athletic ability of any player I've ever seen at the WELL..........speed, strength and he plays as though he is having a kick about in the local park

I don't want to use this an excuse to say we are above our level, because I think this is our level, and can see no reason why we shouldn't be able to compete in this league. But I think that saying we spent more than some teams shows just how far behind we were. We needed to spend some of that money to bring us up to the minimum standard of this league. Now that we are not far off, I don't think it would take that much more to make us competitive.
